In the play, Zhao Haishuo plays the role of Tang Dong. Zhao Haishuo introduced that in the play, Tang Dong is a senior executive of Hebei Iron and Steel Group's Smederevo Steel Plant in Serbia and is responsible for the overall planning and operation of the company. Since this play is the first time Zhao Haishuo has participated in an industrial-themed play, and it is also the first time he has played the role of a senior executive of a large company, in order to better integrate into the role, he reviewed a lot of videos, pictures and other materials to better shape his body and voice. Valada, played by Wu Xueyan, has many scenes opposite Tang Dong in the play. Wu Xueyan introduced that Varada is a Serbian who is full of national confidence and patriotic sentiments. He is arrogant and uncompromising. In the play, he and Tang Dong turned from rivals to friends. In order to play this foreign friend well, he also experienced life with a Serbian friend. The stage design of the play is based on three large screens and a movable staircase device. It takes creative image expression as the top priority. The rusty texture of the image flows through the scene with symbolic techniques, stylized tones, and strange effects. On the screen, with the Serbian-style main melody and chords, a stage expression rich in industrial beauty is completed.
Huang Kaifu is responsible for the stage design of this play. Previously, he had walked into Hebei Iron and Steel Group to observe and feel. He said that in people’s minds, in the past steel mills, workers were working in the sweltering heat with sparks flying everywhere. In fact, in steel plants now, workers work in offices and cannot see sparks flying. They are faced with screens and data. The workshop is also very clean, yet efficient and productive.
