's work "You" is based on the fourth volume of Zhang Guangtian's newly published novel "The Future Can Be Chased". This is a long narrative poem written to his father and the father of mankind. The whole poem lists his father's faults. At the beginning, it conveys a powerful and sad aura like dark clouds. The air density rises suddenly, and everyone watching the performance feels a heavy feeling. Medium stuck.
With the changes in singing, percussion and electric guitar, the rhythm of the scene was opened up. The actors became more and more relaxed, and the audience swayed along with them. The alternation of field lights instantly reversed the subject-object structure of performance and viewing. Everything in the theater is happening. The audience’s eyes, hands, ears, nose, and tongue are all mobilized. The scene is simultaneously pushed by time, actors, music, and the audience. .
During the communication session with the audience, Zhang Guangtian said that this is not so much an immersive work as an "anti-immersion" work. There are a large number of elements in the scene that "block" the audience from falling into a certain fixed mood or plot, and the audience is even given props to "interrupt" to resist the habitual addiction to the stage and actors. When the three elements of traditional drama: stage, actors, and script, the weight of the three becomes lighter to a certain extent, drama will inevitably enter another non-dramatic state. That is to say, performance is not a relationship between watching and performing. Performance is an integration of watching and performing. It does not matter whether it is watching or acting. This time, I am very happy to construct and witness the birth of a non-theatrical scene with the audience in Guangzhou. Zhang Guangtian said: "The last time, 22 years ago, we brought modern drama to Guangzhou, and this time we brought non-drama to Guangzhou, which is unprecedented."
An audience member engaged in education at the scene felt: "You" is like a The clear flow breaks the framework of traditional drama. With his unique creativity, Zhang Guangtian not only draws the audience into the plot, but also deliberately breaks the audience into the play, making everyone become part of the performance. This novel form is not only refreshing, but also presents endless surprises within reason. Evocative and thought-provoking.
Another audience member lamented: "This is a very innovative and subversive drama experience. It explores the topic of life and death in a young way, which is very attractive to young audiences like me."
According to the reporter's understanding, Zhang Guangtian's live works series The performance will last until the end of June.
