The School of Materials Science and Engineering of the school held a special concert for the 10th anniversary of the Starlight Chorus.
In this concert, the singing, piano accompaniment and conducting were almost all performed by teachers and students of Wuhan University of Technology. Counselor Yuan Sichen served as the piano accompanist. As the fingers fell on the keys, the melody sounded, and the choir members stepped onto the stage in uniform costumes. As the conductor drew a beautiful arc in the air, the passionate notes of the song "Singing the Motherland" poured out. The audience was also infected by the singing, and they stood up and joined in the chorus.

It is understood that ten years have passed since the establishment of the Starlight Chorus in 2014, and all its members are undergraduate, master’s and doctoral students in the School of Materials Science and Technology. In the past ten years, the Starlight Choir has provided more than 400 literary and artistic talents to the school. It not only popularizes choral art inside and outside the campus, but also actively participates in competitions and performances at all levels, totaling more than 60 times. In the 2024 "Meet the Yangtze River" Hubei University College Student Chorus Performance, the Starlight Choir won the Best College Student Chorus Award.
According to reports, the Starlight Chorus has not only become a platform for art display, but also a model of the combination of science and art. According to statistics, the average admission rate of undergraduate members of the choir is as high as 90.48%, ranking among the best among student societies on campus. In addition, team members have also won numerous awards in national competitions such as the "Challenge Cup" and "Internet+", winning more than ten national honors in total.
