According to data released by the movie data platform Maoyan Professional Edition on June 11, the total box office of the Dragon Boat Festival in mainland China (June 8 to 10) was 383 million yuan, the third lowest for the same period in the past ten years, only the highest in 2022 and 2020.
Zhang Tong, senior analyst at Maoyan Research Institute, pointed out to Xinhua News Agency reporters that this year’s Dragon Boat Festival lacks commercial blockbusters with eye-catching box office success like last year’s crime thriller " The Disappearance of Her ".
