"Gathering of Humanities and Walking towards Beauty" - the 2024 "Weekly Performances" series of mass cultural performances in various streets and towns in Xuhui District, "Passing on the Fire and Famous Family", a special theatrical performance on Tianping Street in Xuhui District was recently staged.

In a corner of the green Xujiahui Park, Tianping Street planned "Passing on the Fire·Celebrities", which showed the profound heritage of Shanghai's rap and tongue twisters. At the event site, performers gathered together, and three generations of old, middle-aged and young people competed on the same stage to protect this precious cultural heritage. Among them, Pingtan performing artist Liu Min, eighty-year-old art evergreens Xu Weixin and Gong Bokang, together with intangible cultural inheritors Yin Zhiqiang, Yu Huidi, Dai Qirong, Zhu Hongyu, etc., and the "Shanghai Xiaobalazi Art Troupe" Young actors collaborated to weave a cultural dialogue across generations.

The performance climaxed one after another. Students from the "Shanghai Xiaobalazi Art Troupe" opened the show by singing "Salute, Five-Star Red Flag". Their immature but firm voices expressed their deep affection for the motherland. Subsequently, the new rap "Salute to the Five-Star Red Flag" was performed by Zhou Xuanyi and Wang Yichen, cleverly integrating modern elements and refreshing. The traditional work "One Hundred and Eight Generals", performed by Yin Zhiqiang, a disciple of Xiao Liu Chunshan, the successor of tongue twisters, vividly reproduces the legend of the Water Margin heroes in the form of tongue twisters.

Two teenagers, Feng Jiaxiang and Xu Zhichen, challenged the classic one-man show "Learning English" to pay tribute to their predecessors and inject youthful vitality into the ancient art. In addition, Teacher Liu Min's special creation "Little Red Scarf" not only enchanted the audience with its unique tanci art, but also conveyed expectations and encouragement to the next generation of cultural inheritors.
