Taking the 2024 Spring Festival market that just passed as an example, the total box office for the period was 8.05 billion yuan, setting a new record for the Spring Festival box office, number of shows, and attendance in Chinese film history. Since its release on February 10, the cumulative box office of "Hot and Spicy" has exceeded 3.46 billion. With 72.034 million moviegoers, it not only leads the Spring Festival season, but also temporarily tops the domestic box office list for 2024.

In overseas markets, "It's Hot" ranked ninth, second, first and fourth at the box office in its first week of release in North America, Australia, Malaysia and New Zealand. And at the 26th Udine Far East Film Festival in Italy in 2024, "Hot" will also be screened as the opening film.
"Hot and Spicy" is jointly produced by Xinli Films and China Literature Film and Television, a subsidiary of Yuewen Group. It is the second collaboration between Xinli Films and Jia Ling after "Hello, Li Huanying". Previously, "Hello, Li Huanying" was released during the Spring Festival in 2021, ranking among the top three in Chinese film history with a box office of over 5.4 billion. The warm core conveyed by the film was also taken by Sony Pictures, which purchased the English adaptation rights.
