In response to the above controversy, the relevant departments of Muping District, Yantai City responded to an interview with The Paper and stated that the performance area was approved by the Yantai Municipal People's Government in 2005 and was determined to be land for urban development and construction, and the nature of the land use includes culture, entertainment, commerce, and residence. In 2010, it was auctioned and sold by the Yantai Municipal Land and Resources Bureau, with a transfer area of 148.55 acres. This area is not within the coastline, and there is no problem of occupying the beach or constructing on the beach. The area has previously hosted other performances.
