From the land of plenty on the shores of Dongting Lake to the land of plenty on the side of the Helan Mountains, the crew of "Youth Has Another Name" finally came to Yinchuan, which is known as the "Fortress of Jiangnan". On the evening of April 2nd and 3rd, the new acrobatic theater "Youth Has Another Name" created by the Hunan Acrobatic Art Theater was performed at the Ningxia People's Theater in Yinchuan. This was the third stop of the show's 2024 national tour.
Yinchuan has a rich history and diverse culture. From the Shuidonggou site in the Paleolithic Age to Xingqing, the eastern capital of the Xixia Kingdom in the Song Dynasty, the "Seventy-two Connected Lakes" nourished the robust and energetic Yinchuan people and gave birth to a long history and culture. And the appearance of "youth" is becoming more and more abundant here. Thrilling high-altitude movements, smart and cool unicycle skills... This is the performance site of "Youth Has Another Name". Here, countless literary and art lovers gather together to share the "spring" of Yinchuan.
As a stage play that integrates acrobatics, dance, music and audio-visual arts, "Youth Has Another Name" uses four acts full of youthful atmosphere to interpret the growth process of each small and great life individual in the new era. Rich youthful expressions and full youthful connotations create a touching youthful atmosphere and awaken the audience's youthful memories.
"This work is refreshing, entering a new world of acrobatic art. It is a repertoire of very high artistic quality. Tradition and modernity, travel and return, deconstruction and reorganization, integration and independence make the ideological connotation expressed in this repertoire Rich and exciting," Wang Shoude, former director of the General Political Bureau of Art and literary critic, said after watching the acrobatic drama. According to the producer of "Youth", the creative team not only hopes that this work has a noble intention, but also hopes that the traditional acrobatic art will be renewed and sublimated through innovation. This coincides with the brave spirit promoted by "Youth".
It is reported that since its premiere at the Hunan Grand Theater in October 2021, "Youth" has won the 15th Hunan Province Spiritual Civilization Construction "Five One Project" Special Award, and was selected for the National Arts Fund's 2023 Communication Promotion Exchange Funding Projects, specially invited works for the National Excellent Acrobatics Show in Beijing, and special acrobatic performances for the designated envoys of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in China, have been widely recognized by the industry. Next, "Youth" will also enter Xi'an and Chongqing to continue to spread the hard work and progress of youth.
