When I was asked for the first time, I had just participated in a "Flowers" Roadshow. I wore a very simple sweater that day and didn't dress up too much. This is different from my original style. When working, we are actually used to dressing up for events. But then I discovered that that simple but very comfortable sweater gave me a very good state that day. So that time I said that things like how to wear clothes that are "must" are no longer so "must". Maybe it's something small and insignificant. But I know that a small shackle has been removed.

Having been in this industry for so many years, I have seen good directors, good actors, and good partners. But like "Flowers", the entire crew works together. This kind of cohesion is extremely rare. Not just actors, every department is like this.
Everyone is working hard, but no one is complaining. No one wants to end the work early, "Hey, okay, hurry up and shoot, let's get over it." No one is in that state. It seems that everyone is working hard to create for the sake of art. There is only one goal, which is to do better.
What’s amazing is that no one is deliberately asking for it, everyone is doing it spontaneously. It's a bit like trying to be a civilized class when you were a child, and every child is highly conscious of maintaining the honor of the entire class. Every day I feel like: Wow! Very touched.
And this "revolutionary friendship" continues off-screen. When we meet again and cooperate again, we all know what each other's standards are. You can tell at a glance. The quality and efficiency brought about by the high degree of tacit understanding of each other are so rare.

For example, after the actors, photography, lighting, art, etc. who are working hard on the front line are finished, he will have a meeting with the creative team behind the scenes to make the necessary adjustments before we start shooting the next day.
The biological clocks of the cast and crew on set and the staff behind the scenes are different. We often finish work at four or five in the morning, and may go to work behind the scenes at nine or ten. After the meeting, we have to start work again. Director Wong Kar-Wai is always the first to come to the work site and is always with us. How many hours can he sleep in between? Do you think people who are better than me work harder than me?

Ms. Wang is a character I like very much. If she were someone I met in my life, I would be very willing to become friends with her. In fact, the two of us are similar in many ways about . I am also the kind of person who, if I decide to do something, will go all out without hesitation and I don’t like to have to explain myself. When Ms. Wang returned from a trip to Shenzhen, she found that the people she knew before had changed a lot. This meant that they had little interaction during that time. She was focused on her career and doing one thing well.
The three years during the filming of "Flowers" were also the three years when I "didn't have much voice". I am aware of the outside world's speculations and judgments about me. I didn't think of explaining anything. I know that I am very busy and fulfilled, and what I am busy with is something that I like and enjoy very much. clearly knows what it is doing, and this is enough for .
Sometimes we are eager to explain, afraid of being misunderstood, want the outside world to understand us better, and pursue the sense of security of being accepted and recognized. Think about it carefully, are these really that important? In general, my current focus is on continuous streamlining and constantly eliminating factors that deviate from the main task. This may also be my transition from liking to loving performances.
Someone asked me, if "Flowers" did not "pop" and was not as popular as it is now, or if three years were not enough and there would be another three years, how would I cope? To be honest, I haven't thought about . But in the next three years, I will still be so determined. I only have one thought in my mind: take a good picture of it. I didn’t think about how much I invested, how much I needed to get in return, what I would do if it didn’t work out, and so on.
Audiences have the ability to distinguish good from bad. When you meet a good story and a good team, you find that you are absorbing good nutrients every day you participate in it. You find that you are in a paradise, and everything about you is getting better. This process is already a very precious harvest for me. So I just want to focus on this thing, this thing is this thing, and don't think about anything else.

From a certain perspective, the best way to care about the results is not to pay attention to the results. I don't care about the results, but subconsciously, my focus is on getting involved and working efficiently, so the results shouldn't be too bad.

Run at your own pace
In fact, in 2018, I took a break for more than half a year. I feel tired, confused, and stuck. It seems like I am repeating myself, and I can’t see the direction to go, and I don’t know how to break out. I simply stopped completely and didn’t take any jobs.

spent eight months practicing piano, arranging flowers, painting, learning skateboarding, learning languages, etc. Just enjoying life, recharging myself, and doing a lot of things that I never had time to do. It’s my “gap year”. It seems that after that, people started asking me, "Are you afraid?" Are you afraid of this or that, are you afraid of the younger generations surpassing you, or something like that? I don’t think so. Why you ask me this is not within the scope of my thinking at all. In the past three years, has been asked constantly. I'm really not afraid, or rather, I really haven't thought about it.

I understand that planning for a rainy day is a far-sighted quality, but some things will not change just because we think about them over and over again. If you stare at a question like that with a frown and think about it when you have nothing to do, aren't you scaring yourself? Instead, it wastes time and adds to worries. Why not try to stay away and let go of your fear. If I don’t stare into the abyss, the abyss will have no chance to swallow me.
After "Flowers", it will be a process of clearing things up and setting sail again. What the next role will be, I don’t know. The deeper I get into the performance of , the more awed I become. What I can do is to go all out and rush 100% within my capabilities without leaving any regrets. As for what the rhythm of will be in the future, I have not deliberately set it.
I have tried spinning around all year round, I have tried completely stopping, and I have tried "sealing" myself in a role for a long period of time. In the next step, maybe I will meet many interesting characters at once and enter a period of intensive output. Maybe I won’t meet any of them for a long time. The rhythm of is not important. If you can create something good, it deserves more attention. Based on this premise, I am willing to face my heart more honestly and run at my own pace.
