On March 3, the work "Spring Play" by Qian Dugu of the Guangdong Dance and Drama Vocational College (hereinafter referred to as "Guangdong Dance Theater") was unveiled on the CCTV comprehensive channel "The Dragon and the Tiger Leaping Chinese New Year". This dance is an original work of Cantonese Dance Opera, performed by 10 students from the school's dance school. The work won the gold award for performance, the silver award for choreography, the silver award for work, and the best original music award in the 8th Lingnan Dance Competition.

"Spring Play" describes the auspicious scene of a group of girls playing in the spring. The main creative material is Lu Fengqian Dance. It is a characteristic folk dance in the Chaoshan area of Guangdong Province. It is a dance resource with great uniqueness and important cultural value in Guangdong.

Qian drum, also known as "money drum", is performed by two or more people in pairs, mainly dancing, accompanied by singing (music). In the Ming Dynasty, when the ancestors of the residents migrated from Fujian and settled in Lufeng, they brought it and passed it down from generation to generation. According to legend, it has been more than 560 years.

The reporter learned that the original version of "Spring Play" had 16 girls, and 10 students were selected for this CCTV performance based on the recording requirements. This work is based on the Lu Feng Qian Dance teaching materials prepared in class two years ago. It was originally organized as a complete teaching combination and participated in the third "Youth Cup" National Art Vocational Education Dance Exhibition of the Chinese Art Vocational Education Society. After further improvement, he participated in the 13th "Taoli Cup" National Dance Performance hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in the form of a quality class, and won the Outstanding Quality Class Award (the highest award). After compiling the teaching materials, the work was created in September 2023. During the creation process, I once again went deep into Lufeng to collect styles, and received strong support from Chen Biying, chairman of the Lufeng Dance Association and inheritor of Qiangu.

Zhang Yunpeng, dean of the Dance School of Guangdong Dance and Drama Vocational College, said in an interview with a reporter from the Yangcheng Evening News: "Regarding Qian Gu, we are adhering to the continuous exploration, organization and promotion of Lingnan dance culture, from the construction of teaching materials to the creation of works, and training skills from the classroom We will use our own actions to contribute to the cultural power of the country."

Wu Shihui, a 2018-level six-year dance performer at Guangdong Dance Theater, is one of the actors in "Spring Play". She told reporters: " During the performance, my professional skills have been greatly improved, and at the same time I have a deeper understanding and understanding of Guangdong Lingnan culture."

The main prop of Qian Gu drum is the "Eight Jiao Qian Drum", which can emit sounds when the prop is shaken The ringing sound of the bell is crisp, and the main dance movements include drum spinning, drum beating, drum shaking, drum throwing, drum catching, etc. The dance form is graceful and flexible, requiring the comprehensive coordination and cooperation of the performer's hands, eyes, body skills, and steps.

A small money drum hides great art. From the use of props such as holding a money drum to holding a bamboo board, to the gesture of three money fingers, every detail is very particular. For example, when holding bamboo boards, the actor needs to hold two bamboo boards in each hand. Through the shaking of the wrist or the pinching of the fingers, the bamboo boards can make sounds. The coordination between the fingers is particularly important. Qian drum music is similar to Fujian Nanyin, with simple and elegant tunes. Most of its music is in the feather mode, and its dominant sound (i.e. the "horn" sound, which is the "six" sound in Guqin 2, 3 and 4 notation) vibrates back and forth to the note above it, which is full of phonological beauty.
