According to Xinhua News Agency, March 3 is the last day that the giant panda Fubao in South Korea will be seen by the public before returning to China. On the same day, people who loved "Fubao" said goodbye to it at Everland in Yongin City, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea.
In order to give more tourists the opportunity to say goodbye to "Fubao", Everland will change the appearance time of "Fubao" from the original half day to a full day from March 1st to 3rd. Even so, tourists who came after hearing the news still formed a long queue, and some tourists even came to queue in the early morning.
During the peak period of the flow of people, the sign at the entrance to Panda World once showed "you need to wait 400 minutes", but this still could not stop the enthusiasm of the Korean people.
"Fubao" was born on July 20, 2020. She is the first baby of giant pandas "Aibao" and "Lebao" living in South Korea. It is also the first giant panda born in South Korea, so it is loved by the Korean people and has received nicknames such as "Princess Fu" and "Fu Dun Dun".
According to Everland statistics, since "Fubao" began to meet the public on January 4, 2021, it has attracted a total of 5.5 million tourists. Everland's "Fubao" video uploaded on social networks has accumulated 500 million views, making it a veritable "superstar" in South Korea.
According to the relevant protection agreement signed between China and South Korea, "Fubao" must return to China before reaching the age of 4. Starting from March 4, "Fubao" will undergo a month of health and quarantine management, and will undergo training to adapt to the cage.
"Fubao" is expected to return to China in April, but the specific date has not yet been announced.
