is really a hearty and refreshing cooling! I used to feel great when the temperature dropped by 8-10°C. Who would have thought that now the temperature starts to drop to 20°C? It’s really been a long time!

At 14:00 today, there will be a cliff-like cooling in central Guizhou, northern Guangxi, northern and western Guangxi, southern Jiangxi, western and northern Fujian, and southern Zhejiang, with the general drop exceeding 20℃!

The picture above shows the 24-hour temperature change ranking at 14:00 today. Only those with a temperature drop of more than 25℃ in one day are eligible to be included in the top ten. For example, at Libo Station in Guizhou Qiannan Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, the highest temperature exceeded 30°C yesterday, reaching 32.1°C. Today, it was only 4°C at 14:00, falling directly from summer to midwinter.

In Fuzhou, Fujian, the maximum temperature soared to 32.3℃ yesterday, which not only broke the local record for the highest temperature extreme in February, but also set the earliest time for 30℃+ to occur in the local area! However, the temperature dropped all the way today, and by 14:00 the temperature was only 13.2℃, so a short-sleeved and thick jacket was enough for one night.

This first cold wave in the Year of the Dragon not only crossed the Nanling Mountains, but even "penetrated" Guangxi. Hepu, Fangchenggang, Qinzhou and other places along the southern coast of Guangxi also experienced significant cooling of 5 to 12 degrees Celsius!

On the streets of Nanning, Guangxi, short-sleeved clothes were everywhere yesterday, but today we saw people wearing down jackets again.

The weather is changing into something we are not familiar with. Today @HunanWeather stated that this cold wave is the strongest cold wave in Hunan in the past 50 years.

Why is the cold wave so strong this time?

The strength of the cold air itself is one thing, but the unusual warmth before the cold air comes is also worthy of attention. Precisely because it was too warm in the early stage, the temperature was raised to an extremely high level, which left a lot of room for the cold air to cool down later.

In fact, you can see it by looking at temperature changes. In many places in the south, more than half of the temperature drops of 20℃+ are to "correct" the previously ridiculously warm temperatures.

Taking Changsha as an example, the maximum temperature on February 18 before the cold wave was 29.2℃, which was more than 17℃ higher than the same period in normal years. (Note: The average maximum temperature in Changsha in mid-February was only 11.9°C.) After the cold wave came to cool down, the temperature in Changsha this afternoon dropped below freezing point. From the high point to the low point of the process temperature, the cumulative cooling range has exceeded 30℃. More than half of this is "correction" of the previous warm...

After seeing this, everyone can understand that the warmer it is, the worse we will encounter in the future. The more outrageous cold snaps there are, the greater the potential for cooling. Of course, this also involves the impact of climate warming on the intensity of cold air in winter in my country, which we will not discuss here.

Back to the present, the arrival of the cold wave in southern China means that it is about to reach the end of its impact. Afterwards, the force of the cold air moving southward weakened and had little impact on Hainan. In addition, Yunnan is also blocked by Wumeng Mountain. The temperature in Kunming will still rise steadily in the future. Therefore, in the future, Haikou and Kunming will be one of the few places with deviating temperatures. Warm city.

↑The weather in Kunming is really good, the temperature is suitable and it is sunny.

Judging from the mid-term forecast of the Central Meteorological Observatory, in the next 10 days, except for places such as southern South China and eastern Yunnan, the average temperature will be 2 to 4 degrees Celsius higher than the same period of normal years. The average temperature of most other areas in my country will be 1 to 3 degrees lower than the same period of normal years. ℃.

Specifically, the overall temperature in many places in the north is still significantly lower today and tomorrow, but the degree of coldness has eased, and the temperature has gradually bottomed out and is rising. Among them, starting from the 24th, the rain and snow in the north will stop, and there will be a precipitation intermission period of about 4 days.

For many places in the south, the heavy snowfall will be significantly reduced tomorrow, but after this round of rain and snow, the precipitation will not completely end. From Guizhou to Jiangnan, the rainy and snowy weather will continue almost until the end of this month. Therefore, the temperature in many places from the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River to Guizhou will continue to be low, and the temperature in some areas will continue to be about 8℃ low.

In addition, there will be freezing rain tomorrow and the day after tomorrow in eastern Guizhou, Hunan, eastern Hubei, southern Anhui and other places. Pay attention to road conditions and driving safety when passing through the Erguang, Shanghai-Kunming, Hangrui and other expressways.
