According to Weibo@ Greater Bay Area Voice, six people including Hong Kong artist Wang Zongyao were suspected of forcibly entering the Legislative Council building on July 1, 2019 and wreaking havoc. The case was decided in the West Kowloon Court of Hong Kong on February 1, and the judge found Wang Zongyao guilty of rioting.
According to Hong Kong Sing Tao Daily, the six defendants are Huang Jiahao (24 years old, reporter), He Junyan (23 years old, transport worker), Ma Qicong (34 years old, online media reporter), Wang Zongyao (44 years old, artist), Wu Zhiyong (27 years old) and Lin Jinjun (27 years old) are accused of participating in riots with other people in and around the Legislative Council Complex on or about July 1, 2019; Lin Jinjun is also charged with one count of criminal damage; Wang Zongyao and Wu Zhiyong earlier pleaded guilty to one count of "entering or staying in the conference hall".
The judge ruled on February 1 that Wang Zongyao, He Junyan, Wu Zhiyong and Lin Jinjun were found guilty of rioting; Huang Jiahao and Ma Qicong were not found guilty of rioting, but they and He Junyan were found guilty of entering the conference hall; Lin Jinjun was also found guilty of criminal damage. The crime was established.
