Nanyin is an ancient music with a long history, also known as "Xianguan" and "Quanzhou Nanyin". It originated in Quanzhou, Fujian and is a precious national music treasure in my country. For thousands of years, Nanyin has been widely spread in the Hokkien-speaking areas and is sung in Quanzhou dialect. The singing method retains the traditional and ancient national singing method before the Tang Dynasty. The main singing form is "the harmony of silk and bamboo, and the singer's song". It is a UNESCO Humanity One of the masterpieces of intangible cultural heritage, it is known as the "living fossil" of Chinese national music. The ancient Nanyin, rooted in Quanzhou, is firmly rooted in southern Fujian, forming a unique cultural phenomenon and integrating into many aspects of local people's lives, architecture, folk customs, etc. In recent years, Quanzhou has spared no effort to protect Nanyin, adopted a number of measures to protect and inherit Nanyin, cultivated a large number of Nanyin rookies, and injected new vitality into the inheritance of Nanyin.

As a young person in the new era, through contact with Nanyin on the university campus, I seem to be able to travel through time and space and feel the charm of ancient culture. This collision of tradition and modernity has aroused strong interest in Nanyin among the younger generation, and also prompted us to cherish and inherit this cultural treasure even more. When college students come into contact with Nanyin, they can often feel its rigorous performance skills and deep emotional expressions. This not only provides us with a novel musical experience, but also cultivates a more nuanced aesthetic concept for us, prompting us to love and understand traditional music even more. How can traditional culture better go global? College students should play an active role in promoting Nanyin, such as by holding Nanyin performances and traditional culture lectures, to bring this cultural treasure to campus so that more students can understand, feel and love Nanyin. At the same time, modern scientific and technological means are used to combine Nanyin with novel elements to create a more contemporary performance form, allowing traditional culture to be better integrated into modern life and attract a wider audience.

As a college student from Fujian, I have a deep interest in Nanyin, an ancient music genre. Nanyin, a music form that originated in the Jin and Tang Dynasties, formed in the Song Dynasty, and spread in the Hokkien-speaking areas, carries rich historical and cultural connotations. The inheritance and development of Nanyin requires the efforts and participation of our generation. We should actively learn and spread Nanyin culture so that more people can understand and appreciate the unique charm of Nanyin. At the same time, we should also think about how to combine Nanyin with modern music, innovate and develop, so that Nanyin can radiate new vitality in the context of the new era. Nanyin has gone abroad and become one of the representative works of UNESCO's intangible cultural heritage of mankind. This makes me deeply proud and proud. This also means that our traditional culture has been recognized and respected by the world. At the same time, this also means that we have the responsibility to pass on the cultural heritage of Nanyin and let more people understand and appreciate the unique charm of Nanyin. We should innovate while inheriting, so that Nanyin, an ancient music type, can radiate new vitality in the context of the new era.

As a college teacher, I deeply feel the preciousness and uniqueness of Nanyin, a traditional music. Nanyin, a musical form that originated in the Jin and Tang Dynasties, formed in the Song Dynasty, and spread in southern Fujian, is not only a treasure of Chinese culture, but also an intangible cultural heritage common to all mankind. The uniqueness of Nanyin is that it retains the traditional and ancient national singing method before the Tang Dynasty, singing in Quanzhou dialect, harmonizing silk and bamboo, and singing by the performer. This combination of tradition and local characteristics makes Nanyin a shining pearl in Chinese culture. . Colleges and universities are important places for cultural inheritance and innovation. We have the responsibility to introduce the cultural heritage of Nanyin into the classroom, and through systematic teaching and research, let more students understand and master the performance skills and artistic value of Nanyin. At the same time, university teachers can also promote Nanyin to a broader stage by organizing performances, exhibitions, academic exchanges and other activities, so that more people can appreciate the unique charm of Nanyin. Only in this way can our traditional culture better go out and go to the world.

When you go to Quanzhou, you must listen to Nanyin. The pipa is crisp and agile, the flute is soft and graceful, the second string is passionate and soulful, and the third string is bright and melodious. Together with the graceful, ethereal and polished singing, enjoying a Nanyin performance is like experiencing a musical journey that delights the senses and cleanses the soul.

Originated in the Jin and Tang Dynasties, Nanyin has thousands of years of cultural heritage and heritage. It is one of the oldest existing music types in China and is known as the "living fossil" of Chinese national music. Its temperament, tune, score, instrument and other aspects are well preserved. It contains important historical information about ancient music since the Tang and Song Dynasties, and has very important artistic and academic value. It is not only widely loved by Chinese people, but also warmly welcomed in Southeast Asian countries such as the Philippines, Singapore, and Malaysia. The Quanzhou government and people, experts, scholars and Nanyin enthusiasts at home and abroad have always been committed to the research, protection, inheritance and exchange of Nanyin. They have made Nanyin famous through various means such as holding Nanyin competitions for primary and secondary schools and organizing international Nanyin conferences. Enter the campus, go abroad, go to the world, plant the seeds of inheriting Nanyin in the hearts of children, and sing into the homesickness of overseas travelers.

With the joint efforts of several generations, today's Nanyin not only retains the original flavor of "Tang style and Song Dynasty", but also follows the pace of the times and incorporates new elements and themes. From changing the original music score of "Yi Gong Liu Si Yi" that was difficult to understand and learn to a five-line notation and upgrading it to a digital intelligent music score; to the Nanyin "Birds Returning to the Nest" incorporating elements such as Liyuan Opera on the stage of the 2023 Spring Festival Gala The stage has been well received, and Nanyin's innovation and development are obvious to all. Nanyin, which has both classical charm and the trend of the times, has entered a new stage of development, attracting more and more young people to take the initiative to understand, learn and inherit Nanyin, allowing the euphemistic Nanyin to be rooted in the rich soil of the nation and spread across the ocean. The sea sings to the world.

The complex strings and urgent pipes, the sound of silk and bamboo, the lingering sound, the sound stops the moving clouds. Nanyin, which has spanned thousands of years, has described the unique charm of Chinese national music with its rich cultural heritage. This "treasure" that combines thousands of years of literary and artistic heritage has shined with a different kind of brilliance in the inheritance of the new era. A milestone in world music has been written with great color. (Commentator of China Youth Network)

Quanzhou Nanyin non-heritage inheritor: Wang Yiming

Nanyin has very good growing soil in our local area. Quanzhou attaches great importance to the cultivation and inheritance of Nanyin. Since the 1990s, Nanyin competitions for primary and secondary school students have been held every summer vacation. It has been held for more than 20 years now. We have also brought Nanyin to primary and secondary school classes in Quanzhou, and many primary schools in Quanzhou have offered Nanyin courses. I grew up in a Nanyin family. Both my parents worked in the Quanzhou Nanyin Music Ensemble. I followed my parents to work since I was a child. I listened to their rehearsals and followed them to performances. Under the influence of this environment, I naturally formed a bond with Nanyin. Not only was I one of the earliest young contestants, I also taught at Quanzhou Peiyuan Middle School until now. Nanyin has become a special teaching activity in Pei Yan Middle School. There are Nanyin singing classes and Nanyin instrumental classes every week. Several teachers in our group teach together, and a Nanyin famous teacher studio has also been opened. After entering teaching, I realized that I should not only perform Nanyin for everyone to see, but also learn how to teach it to students so that they can continue to pass on the Nanyin inheritance.Nanyin has also continued to innovate in recent years. Because today's audiences are more pursuing visual and auditory enjoyment, we have innovatively added new elements such as physical performances and more musical instruments. Nanyin's "Birds Returning to their Nest", which appeared on the CCTV Spring Festival Gala, is combined with pop music and brings Nanyin's traditional four treasures of percussion to audiences across the country. In the days to come, we also hope to bring Nanyin to every corner of the world through exchanges and performances around the world, so that more people can know, understand and appreciate Nanyin.
