The Lingnan New Folk Singing Project is an annual large-scale music project sponsored by Southern Metropolis Daily and n Video Planning, and hosted by Nandu Entertainment. It was officially launched on September 8, 2023, with "folk music" as the form, "new" as the soul, and "Lingnan" as the theme of expression. In the past four months, a launch press conference, targeted invitations, social collections, A series of activities such as university promotions and offline flash mobs are aimed at fully tapping the power of original musicians in Lingnan and even across the country, creating a batch of high-quality Lingnan new folk original songs, and striving to shape a new IP for literary and artistic activities in the Bay Area. Currently, the event has released two music albums with a total of 20 original songs, which were officially launched on Southern Metropolis Daily, n Video, Nandu Entertainment’s new media matrix and qq music platform.

Since its launch, the Lingnan New Folk Singing Project has attracted widespread attention from music creators, academic experts, industry insiders and music fans from all walks of life. The social collection activity lasted for one month, and a total of 1,051 original song submissions were received. After multiple rounds of rigorous selection by professional judges, the 10 winning works finally stood out and were carefully polished by professional producers to give them a new look. In December 2023, 10 winning works from social collections were released first, and the music album "Lingnan New Folk Songs (2023 First Series)" was officially launched on the QQ music platform, jointly showing the colorful and long-lasting Lingnan culture and life interest.
Subsequently, 10 targeted invitation works by well-known musicians were also unveiled one after another. The targeted invitation lineup includes singers and musicians such as Chang Shilei, Ye Bei, Zeng Xiaomin, Haiwei, A Suan (lead singer of Super Zhan), Qiulin, Son of the Sun, Peng Yongchen, Wang Xinyu, Xie Chengqiang, Liu Zhuohui, Zhang Jiacheng, Fang Yi, and Fei Fei More than a dozen Guangdong bands, including The Doors and Captain Toy, also participated. Among them are established and well-known musicians and backbone figures in the Chinese music scene, as well as new-generation folk songs that have become popular among young people in recent years, as well as musicians and bands who have been deeply involved in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area for many years.
