Shows. How should beginners learn if they can’t see the instrument? How should musicians play if they can't see the music score? How can the orchestra members cooperate if they cannot see the conductor? For the visually impaired children in the Yangfan Pipe Band of Chongqing Special Education Center, these are daily challenges that they need to face. They listened with their ears, felt and memorized every note and every change in intensity and speed in the music. Hundreds of rehearsals allowed this team to play beautiful melodies. The orchestra holds a New Year's concert every year, and the flowers of hard work bloom in winter as scheduled. As the largest blind wind band in China, its performance level has been continuously improved under the careful guidance of teachers and the care of caring people in society. They won the Silver Award for Performance at the 2014 Shanghai Spring International Music Festival Wind Music Festival and were invited to the Beijing Concert Hall and the National Center for the Performing Arts to perform jointly with the China Symphony Orchestra and the Chinese People's Liberation Army Military Band. In March 2022, the orchestra participated in the opening ceremony of the Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympics, playing the International Paralympic Committee's anthem "Hymn to the Future". Music is like a lighthouse, illuminating children's hearts and allowing them to set sail for the future with peace of mind and dreams.
