2023, it is a year when the performance market has fully recovered and even gone crazy, with celebrity concerts blowing out.

According to incomplete statistics, Joker Xue will have more than 70 concerts in 2023; Mayday, which has recently been involved in the lip-synching controversy, will hold more than 59 concerts in 2023; Jay Chou, the singer who earns the most money in concerts, will have 29 world tour concerts throughout the year ;Singer Zhang Jie held 21 concerts throughout the year. Data from the

Damai platform shows that nationwide, the number of large-scale concert performances exceeded 200 in November and December, which was basically the same as in October. In the first three quarters of this year, the number of people watching performances in the performance market exceeded 110 million, exceeding the level for the whole of 2019. The

concerts have been lively from the beginning to the end of the year, and the retaliatory consumption of young people is particularly obvious. It is hard to get a ticket for Jay Chou's concert, and a single concert ticket has been sold for 60,000 yuan; tfboys ten-year appointment concert , more than 30,000 tickets were snatched up in a few seconds, and more than 6 million people signed up to see it.

A concert can set a city on fire. The Haikou Culture and Tourism Bureau previously disclosed that Jay Chou's four concerts directly brought 976 million yuan in tourism consumption revenue to the local area; Xi'an previously released data that tfboys' concerts directly drove 416 million yuan in tourism revenue. Behind every concert that attracts huge amounts of money, from the front to the back, from the inside to the outside, there may be hundreds of people working together to complete a perfect performance.

2023 will be the year with the most concerts, and it is also the busiest year for relevant practitioners and the most involved in the Nuggets. Among them are directors, photographers, visual executives, security personnel, and vendors setting up stalls outside the venue. They are all front-line participants, witnesses and creators of each movable feast.

There are too many performances to handle, and one performance earns 10,000.

Narrator: Macau visual executive

I am a concert visual executive in Macau, which is a vj in industry terms. I have 7-8 years of experience in the industry. The specific work content is actually, you see the videos of various wonderful patterns flowing on the concert screen, the person playing with the computer on the console, and then when to cut the live signal and when to convert it into animation, those impressive visuals We are doing all the effects creation work.

For vj, if we are not involved in the video production from beginning to end, it can be completed within a week. The customer gives us the video, communicates the video playback rhythm, and finally follows their execution method.

I participated in 50-80 performances of various sizes this year, earning about 10,000 yuan per performance. There are concerts and music festivals and concerts. There are many performances in Macau. On December 23rd, there were 7 performances of different sizes in one place in Macau, including concerts by different stars such as Li Ronghao and Hacken Lee. There are almost hundreds of performances a year.

I remember that November was the busiest month of the year. I was involved in a music festival project and was busy for 2-3 weeks. At the same time, I had other performance projects, so I participated in almost 5 performances that month. At work, I go to one venue a day during the busiest times. Working hours at the Cool Music Festival are very long, from 7 a.m. to 2 a.m. the next day.

The biggest feeling this year is that the performance industry is really crazy. During the epidemic, almost all offline performances were suspended. However, there are 5-8 times more performances this year than last year, and more than in 2019. Personally, I participated in one-third fewer performance projects in 2019 than this year. At that time, there was no feeling of retaliatory concerts. It was relatively stable. There were performances in 2-3 venues every week. Now, there are performances in every venue every week.

This year’s concert blowout is certainly a good thing for the performance industry, but it also exposed some problems. There is indeed a shortage of manpower for Macau performances, and relevant talents are relatively scarce. I have heard from many partners that some performances are not done because they don’t want to do them, but because they don’t have enough people.

Compared with previous years, one obvious change this year is that the venues for concerts and concerts have begun to become smaller. Venues and artists of all sizes began to close down, and small venues began to look for artists of different positions to try to hold a concert or celebrity meeting. Moreover, they are confident that small venues can also attract audiences.

The prosperity of Macau's performance market is also related to policies. Now Macau wants to become a "city of performing arts", so practitioners are working hard to follow the policies.

I attended every concert in Hefei this year, earning 160-180 yuan per day

Narrator: Hefei security staff

I went to almost every concert in Hefei this year. Unlike the groupies who spend money to go to concerts, I work as a security guard. I go to work every day to listen to celebrities singing for free, and I can also earn one or two hundred on the way. It can be said that I kill two birds with one stone.

Of course, security is not my full-time job. I am a consultant on academic qualification improvement and professional qualification certificates. Then I have cooperation with a security company, so I usually connect with my students by the way, and they can go and do it if they are willing. I also obtained a security guard certificate, so I had the opportunity to work part-time at various concerts. I went to all the concerts in Hefei this year, including Zhang Jie’s concert, Joker Xue, Zhang Xinzhe, Li Ronghao, Jolin Tsai and so on. In total, I earned several thousand yuan.

works as a security guard at a concert, with meals and water included, and wages are paid daily. The main job content is to maintain order at the concert, perform duties, etc. Each security guard has a fixed position and does not need to patrol. He enters the venue three hours in advance and the show usually ends at 11pm.

Wages vary at different concerts. The daily salary of a security guard is about 160-180 yuan, because the organizer gives different wages for each concert, and generally it will not be less than 150 yuan.

This year many people came to apply for the security guard certificate because they wanted to go to a concert. Some people who cannot buy concert tickets want to spend money to find security and cleaning staff, and ask them to hand over the day's work to them, so that they can sneak into the venue and save money on tickets. There are all kinds of new things. The research is actually easy to understand. You can make some money while doing prostitution for free, so why not do it? The cost of taking a certificate is only 500 yuan, and we can arrange for our own students here in Hefei to enter the infield. Entering the infield is like attending a concert for free and seeing the stars up close.

Like Zhang Jie's concert in Hefei this year, some people spent thousands of yuan. For me, I didn't spend a penny and still made 180 yuan a day. The only difference is that compared to them, they sit and we stand.

Even if it is not to attend free concerts and pass the security guard certificate, you can still work as a security guard elsewhere. For example, in the high-end communities in Hefei, the security guards are all young men with good salaries, and they all require certificates to work. Having a certificate will provide you with one more employment channel.

I can’t finish the concerts right now. I can’t finish them at all. There will be many concerts recruiting security guards during the New Year’s Day holiday and after the holidays. But the salary may not be too high, many are 100 yuan a day.

The sales of braided hair and tattoo stickers have increased dozens of times, and some people earn two months’ salary a day.

Narrator: Self-employed people setting up concert stalls.

There are a lot of concerts this year, and the stalls are also overcrowded.

I have set up stalls four times this year, one time selling Internet celebrity gourmet hot milk baby, and the other three times I set up stalls at concerts. The three celebrity concerts selected are all celebrity venues with large fan audiences, namely Jay Chou, Mayday, and Angela Chang. Whether

can make money by setting up a stall at a concert mainly depends on the security policy. If it is too strict and does not allow stalls to be set up, he will not make much money. Before

set up a stall, I actually did market research. Pricing mainly depends on peers. The strategy is to sell whatever they sell, and then flexibly increase or decrease the price according to the situation. The purchase channels are the same for everyone, that is, go to 1688, Pinduoduo, and some products will also be purchased from Xiaohongshu.

Setting up a stall at a concert is actually not as profitable as imagined. Some people may earn 10,000 yuan in a few days. For example, a colleague of mine took time off to set up a stall in front of Jay Chou's concert and earned two months of my salary in one day. But not everyone can earn that much. I talked to a colleague who ran a stall before. She had her own job. Then she saw that stalls were very popular, so she thought she could easily earn 10,000 or 1,000 a day like others, so she took a day off to stall in front of Jay Chou's concert venue. As a result, I didn’t even earn back my salary for that day.

The most profitable time for me was setting up a stall at the Mayday concert, and I earned nearly 600 yuan. Even though I didn’t make a lot of money by setting up a stall that day, it was still a big win for me. The top three sales are: hair braiding, tattoo stickers, and lyric keychains. Hair braiding is a low-cost and high-income winner. Almost half of my 600 yuan income that day came from hair braiding. The cost of a hair tie is only a few cents, but one braid costs 35 yuan. I searched for hair braiding tutorials on Xiaohongshu. It is very easy to learn and looks good no matter how you braid it with dopamine stars.

tattoo stickers are also representative of low cost, high unit price and high sales volume, and can be sold dozens of times. Girls who attend concerts like to put one on their faces. The worst product was fans. Only 2 were sold that day. It may be related to the weather. It was difficult to sell when it was cold.

Many colleagues like to sell water and paper towels when setting up stalls. Even if these products cannot be sold, they can be kept for their own use. But I didn’t wholesale these things because I felt that security might chase people away at any time, so I couldn’t set up a fixed stall and had to be prepared for mobile sales at any time. I don’t wholesale the bracelets because many concert organizers will give them to everyone for free. For light sticks, it is also best to check in advance whether the singer has fixed field-controlled light sticks. If so, they cannot be sold. These research tasks are essential.

Another thing is that you cannot be an "i person" (referring to those with introverted personality and obvious social phobia) who set up stalls, and you have to speak out boldly, because the competition on the spot is extremely fierce.

One-stop trading service, it is difficult to obtain the execution rights of well-known singers’ concerts

Narrator: Head of Tianjin Performance Management Company

This year’s concerts have been a blowout, but the implementation of well-known singers’ concerts is usually beyond the reach of our small company.

We are a performance management company in Tianjin. We can not only perform concerts, but also connect performance projects for organizers. This year we have received more activities but relatively few performances. Because many of the organizers of the performances have the ability to implement them, there is no need to find third-party companies. For example, if a company sponsors and sponsors a concert, but they don’t have the ability to execute it, they will find us.

will hold two concerts this year. There have been no projects at all during the three years of the epidemic, and the concerts I undertook before the epidemic were already several years ago. The implementation fee for

is about 200,000-300,000, depending on the scale of the project. Services include: venue connection, security, site protection, material production, cultural approval, public security approval, political and legal committee approval, third-party risk assessment report, etc. The organizer is only responsible for the artists. We provide one-stop service for other on-site aspects. Because

has implementation experience, it is basically not difficult for us. The main reason is that domestic security is of great importance and they are afraid of mass incidents, so the approval process will be stricter, such as the setting of safety exits, the number of security guards, and the placement of iron horses.

Well-known singers and artists have held a lot of solo and tour concerts this year. For example, Mayday, which has been at the forefront recently, held nearly 60 concerts this year. Many other concerts are platter concerts, and the organizers invite stars from different positions. For a platter concert, you need to pay the artist's show fee. For solo performances, the agency already has mature stage production, and the organizer is only responsible for selling tickets.

Under normal circumstances, the cost of a single concert is between 4 million and 10 million. The difference lies in the status of the artist. For solo concerts this year, the cost of a concert for celebrity stars like Rainie Yang and Cyndi Wang is around 6 to 7 million; Jolin Tsai is around 15 million; and celebrities like Zhang Jie, Jay Chou, Mayday, and Jacky Cheung are around 20 million. However, big-name first-line artists do not accept external performances. For example, Jay Chou, Andy Lau, Eason Chan, Mayday, and JJ Lin are all handled by large companies, and others cannot get them.

Generally, platter concerts do not have high requirements for lighting and sound. In order to save budget, they can usually do it for 600,000 to 700,000 yuan, and do not need equipment worth more than 2 million yuan at all. But in fact, different audio equipment is very different, and the effects are definitely different.

participated in more than 20 performances throughout the year. During the busiest period, the team worked 24-hour shifts

Narrator: Concert Director

2023 has been a busy year.

Before the epidemic, we had no plans to enter the performance industry. This year we worked for many concerts and music festivals, but the studio happened to cooperate with some artists with outstanding personal ideas.

This year, my studio (art studio) hosted two national tour concerts, a single concert with thousands of people, and a complete performance of the entire year project. There are only about 20 artist concerts and music festival tours, and each performance takes about 3-4 days of business travel.

travels twice a month.

remembers that November was the busiest month. At that time, as the general director of a singer's concert, he led a team of 14 people. From the overall creativity, stage design to visuals, lighting, and on-site execution, the team worked day and night. The rehearsal time was tight and there was not much preparation work left for everyone, so the team worked 24 hours a day without sleep. Fortunately, in the end, they gave a perfect performance to the 20,000 people present.

has a very full work schedule. So far, we still have 7-8 media visits that we have not had time to reply to. The team has been busy for a year and now has time to take a vacation at the end of the year.
