China News Service, Xiamen, December 30 (Reporter Yang Fushan) The 17th Hokkien Original Song Singer Competition and the Cross-Strait (Xiamen) Hokkien Music Grand Prix Awards Night were held in Xiamen on the evening of the 29th. The competition received hundreds of excellent Hokkien songs from both sides of the Taiwan Strait, and finally selected ten original golden songs.

The song "Xiamen Dream" from the mainland competition area won the first prize. "Heshan Has Love" and "Going Back" from the Taiwan competition area, and "My Mother's Heart" from the mainland competition area won the second prize. The songs "Lonely Person", "Men's Bearing", "Listen", "Love Is Unrestrained", "Story Writer" and "Missing You, Missing You, Missing You" won the third prize.
On-site guests presented awards to the top ten works of this competition.
After the awards ceremony, the outstanding contestants from the Mainland and Taiwan regions of the "World Hokkien Golden Songs Grand Prix" performed the top ten songs that won the award live.
Since the Hokkien Original Song Singer Contest was held in 2007, it has used Hokkien original music as a medium to create a display and exchange platform for Hokkien song lovers on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, Southeast Asia and even the world. The artistic styles of the songs in this competition are diverse, and a variety of musical elements are intertwined and integrated, making people feel the unique charm of original Hokkien music and Hokkien culture in the new era.
Chen Fei, the chief director of this competition and a well-known Hokkien musician on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, said that the competition has always focused on cultural exchanges and integration across the Taiwan Strait. “We hope that with the joint efforts of musicians from both sides of the Taiwan Strait, we can create a new era of Hokkien pop songs and deepen the Folk cultural exchanges between Fujian and Taiwan will jointly promote Chinese culture to the world."
This competition is guided by the Xiamen Music Organizing Committee and hosted by the Xiamen Culture and Tourism Bureau. (End)
