I just found out today that it turns out that opening red wine is so easy. You can do it easily with just a paper clip and no bottle opener at all. The method is really great.
Sometimes, we may encounter such a situation: when we are in a happy mood and ready to enjoy a bottle of wonderful red wine, we find that we can’t find the bottle opener throughout the house. This can really be an annoying problem, especially if you don't have a bottle opener. Some impatient friends may think of using a kitchen knife at home and using the back of the knife to open it like glucose. Some people do use this method, but have you ever thought that if glass shards fall into the red wine, it will be very dangerous to drink, and it will also destroy the integrity of the bottle and look unsightly. So, if there is no bottle opener, we have to use our brains and use the tools available around us to open red wine skillfully. Here are a few ways to open red wine without a corkscrew, so you’ll never have to worry about not having a corkscrew again.
The first method is called the towel impact method. First, remove the plastic cap from the wine bottle. Then, fold the towels into squares and place them on the wall. Place the wine bottle at a 90-degree angle to the wall. Holding the towel in your right hand and the red wine bottle in your left hand, beat the towel against the wall rhythmically. Once the cork is partially ejected, it can be removed with your hands or pliers. Or you can continue banging rhythmically until the entire cork is ejected. In this way, the cork of the wine bottle has been removed intact. If you want to open a bottle of champagne, let it sit for about fifteen minutes before opening.
The second method is called the leather shoe bottle opening method. Similar to the towel method, the cushioning is replaced by shoes. Place the bottom of the red wine bottle vertically into the heel of your leather shoe. Hold the bottle and buffer horizontally, find a wall, if it's outdoors it's probably a tree, and hit it rhythmically with appropriate force. If there is no such surface, you can also hold the wine bottle upside down between your knees and find something to knock the bottom of the bottle. Note: Be sure to use appropriate force when striking. Just before the wine cork comes out, stop beating and pull out the wine cork with your hands.
In the third method, we can prepare two paper clips, which must be made of steel. Steel paper clips are relatively hard. Then we made the paper clip into the shape of two hooks, inserted the hooked end from the side of the cork, and fixed the hook at the bottom of the cork, placing one on each side. After the paper clip is fixed, we tie a knot in the middle, then use a pen or a chopstick to insert the pen into the wrapped part, pull up, and slowly pull out the cork. This method makes it easy to remove the cork without damaging the bottle or cork.
The fourth method, the key method of opening the bottle, prepare the tools: a key, insert the key into the edge of the cork at a 45° angle. Insert the key through the cork to 2.5 cm, turn the bottle, and pull out the key and cork. Repeat the above actions until the cork is pulled out. You can hold a towel in your hand, hold the key handle through the towel, and rotate the cork to prevent the key from scratching the skin of your fingers. This method is simple and easy to operate. As long as you master the skills, you can easily remove the cork.
The fifth method is to give up the red wine cork method. This method is only used when there are no tools, and it is relatively simple. After peeling off the bottle cap, directly use chopsticks or a wooden stick to push the cork inward, and slowly push the cork in. The bottle will never break, because red wine is different from other aerated wines. Beverages and red wine bottles are also specially treated and will not burst due to the pressure you apply. But you still have to be careful not to use too much force, squeeze it in slowly to prevent accidents, and you can drink delicious red wine. There are many ways to open a bottle of red wine, and you can choose the appropriate method according to your actual situation.
If you can’t finish the red wine, don’t leave it there casually. Only by learning how to preserve it can you maintain its original taste. We can re-insert the cork into the mouth of the bottle, and then place the wine directly in the refrigerator to refrigerate it to reduce the loss of wine and air. Contact area, and slow down the oxidation rate. If the cork cannot be re-plugged, you can also use plastic wrap to seal it. Under normal circumstances, you should try to drink the red wine once or twice after opening it. If you can't finish it, you can seal it and store it in the refrigerator, but you can't leave it for too long. No matter how good the wine is, the taste will deteriorate after oxidation. You also need to learn how to preserve red wine to maintain its original flavor.
