A movie data platform shows that as of 12 noon on December 17, this year’s Lunar New Year box office has reached 2.337 billion yuan (including pre-sale box office), the number of moviegoers has exceeded 57 million, and the total box office for the year has reached 52.757 billion yuan.

Rao Shuguang, President of the Chinese Film Critics Society: With the successive releases of Lunar New Year films, I estimate that the total box office of the Chinese film market in 2023 is expected to hit 55 billion yuan.
