Performed on December 17, Chen Xieyang, Liao Changyong, and Huang Ying joined hands with the Suzhou Symphony Orchestra to present repertoire of different styles. Liao Changyong will perform excerpts from the Chinese song "Father's Grassland and Mother's River" and the opera "The Barber of Seville", while Huang Ying will perform excerpts from the song "Maira" and the opera "La Boheme". The concert will be performed by the young Suzhou Symphony Orchestra. This professional symphony orchestra was established in 2016 by Suzhou City and Suzhou Industrial Park. It has nearly 80 outstanding musicians from 18 countries and regions. .
On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of Rachmaninoff’s birth, the young people of the Suzhou Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Chen Xieyang, used their understanding of music to inject new meaning into Rachmaninoff’s classic “Symphony No. 2 in E minor” vitality.
