IT House reported on December 1 that Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser left the company in 2020 and announced the establishment of a new Absurd Ventures company in June this year. Today it officially announced "American Caper" and " A Better Paradise" two projects.
Among them, "American Caper" is a comic and "A Better Paradise" is a 12-episode radio drama, both announced for release in 2024.
"American Caper" tells the story of two American families in a world of corrupt business, thorny politics and clumsy crime. Artist Simon Bisley is responsible for the illustrations of the graphic novel.
Described as "a thrilling existential thriller set in the near future," A Better Paradise is an audio series produced by QCODE Media studios.
As for new talent, two well-known former Rockstar Games employees have recently joined Absurd Ventures:
Michael Unsworth
He was the director of Red Dead Redemption (Red Dead Redemption) and other Rock Star games, and currently serves as Head of Narrative and Creative Management at Absurd Ventures.
Lazlow Jones
Rock star producer, screenwriter and radio host, currently shown as co-founder of the company.
IT Home Note: Dan Houser founded Rockstar with his brother Sam Houser in 1998 and has served as vice president. He is known for incorporating his artistic vision and strong stance on social issues into the game, and has been called the "Father of GTA."
