The multilingual website of the Palace Museum has upgraded the original English website to five languages: English, French, Russian, Japanese, and Spanish. It has set up four major columns: visit, exploration, collection, and newsletter. It is worth mentioning that the website links to the "Digital Cultural Relics Library" of the Palace Museum to display digital images of cultural relics collected by the Palace Museum to meet the needs of overseas public appreciation and research. The website can be adapted to PC and various mobile terminals at the same time, which is convenient for users to access and browse on various devices.
The Palace Museum has a collection of 21,395 oracle bones from the Yin Ruins, ranking third in the world. Oracle bone inscriptions are the earliest mature writing system discovered in China so far, and they are also the source of Chinese characters and the root of Chinese excellent traditional culture. The Palace Museum’s collection of ancient characters and digital platforms will open to the public more than 300 oracle bones and rubbings in high-definition images previously collected by Ma Heng and Xie Boshu. The Palace Museum has a rich collection of "ancient characters" represented by oracle bone inscriptions, bronze inscriptions, pottery inscriptions, stone drum inscriptions, seal characters, etc. In the future, the platform will publish more abundant and more diverse ancient characters and digital resources to meet the public's needs for the use of ancient characters-related resources, improve the efficiency of ancient characters research work, help the construction of the "Four Forbidden City", and promote the integration of paleographs into the trend of social informationization.
