On October 19, President Tokayev told the public during his inspection in Almaty Region: Some people want the "January Incident" to be repeated, and only law and order can prevent the tragedy from happening again.
Tokayev said that, as was the case at the beginning of this year, the domestic forces in Kazakhstan want a new coup attempt. In fact, the "January Incident" is disgraceful to our nation's reputation. He stressed, "Lessons should be learned from this tragedy, and bandits and terrorists must never be glorified as heroes."
"Unfortunately, this kind of situation that could lead to something like 'January Incident' is happening, and someone really wants to Seeing the tragedy repeat itself. I pardon those who committed petty crimes in the events of January under pressure from leadership. Beware of those who tout bandits, murderers, looters, they should be punished by the law, Because the narrow, selfish goals pursued by these people are so far removed from the fundamental interests of our people," Tokayev said.
Tokayev said those who committed treason and showed duplicity and cowardice would soon appear in court. Investigations into those who created or provoked the tragedy will continue.
"For the president of my country, justice is the pursuit of the highest value. Therefore, in my administration, there is a department dedicated to receiving and reviewing the demands of the masses. I have been following this work," Tokayev said.
Tokayev said that in the first nine months of this year, Kazakhstan filed 41,000 appeals with the president, a quarter of which involved law enforcement agency work and court decisions.
"This illustrates the importance of continuing legal reform. Therefore, the rule of law must prevail in our country. Without the rule of law, social order cannot be established," Tokayev said.
Tokayev stressed that law and order should be placed at the forefront of Kazakhstan's domestic policy. Only in this way can we create favorable conditions for the effective implementation of economic reforms and for the benefit of our people.
