Zhou Yun said in the meeting that Zigong lanterns went abroad for the first time in 1990 and held a lantern exhibition at Singapore . For more than 30 years, Zigong lanterns have illuminated the world, entered more than 80 countries and regions, and accounted for 92% of the international market share. In 2019, Zigong lanterns toured in Edinburgh, Manchester, , and London, with over 200,000 visitors. During the light show, traditional culture such as acrobatics and paper-cutting were also displayed to the audience, which was highly praised by the local government and the Chinese Consulate General in Manchester.
Zhou Yun said that Zigong is a city with broad space for cooperation and unlimited investment opportunities. He hoped that through this visit, while enhancing mutual understanding and deepening friendship, a communication and exchange platform will be built to promote pragmatic cooperation and open Zigong. Greater exchanges and cooperation between the city and the UK.
Ding Shanmo said that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of ambassadorial-level diplomatic relations between China and the United Kingdom. In recent years, Zigong City and the United Kingdom have had good cooperation in business, culture and other aspects, and have produced good results. This is the first time I have come to Zigong, and I hope to deepen cooperation with Zigong in intelligent manufacturing, cultural creativity, green and low-carbon factories, etc.
On October 11th, Ding Shanmo and his party also inspected the Aviation Industrial Park, Chuanrun Company, Shenhaijing , and Fangte Dinosaur Kingdom, and held exchanges and discussions.
On October 12th, Ding Shanmo and his party will also enter the new material industry base in southern Sichuan to inspect the Triumph Company and the Yongan Rural Revitalization Project along the beach.
