Jiangcheng Avenue is an important part of the "Three Rings and Twelve Shots" expressway network across the river in Yichang. It runs vertically through points and links to Yidu, with a total length of 23.7 kilometers. The project is constructed in three phases. The first phase of the project is 8.1 kilometers from Dianjun Avenue to Yiqiao, which will be completed and opened to traffic in October 2018; the second phase of the project is 10 kilometers from Yiqiao Road to Wujiagang Yangtze River Bridge, which will be completed and opened to traffic in August 2021; The third phase of the project is 5.6 kilometers from Wujiagang Yangtze River Bridge to Yichang Yangtze River Highway Bridge, with a design speed of 80 kilometers per hour. Since the start of construction in August last year, the builders completed the main line in just 11 months, saving 13 months of construction time.
Jiangcheng Avenue opens up the major traffic artery along the Yangtze River in Yichang, and connects four river-crossing bridges: Zhixi, Yiling , Wujiagang , and Yichang Yangtze River Highway, shortening the distance between Yidu and the main city of Yichang and reducing travel costs. In the past, it took about 1 hour and 20 minutes to drive from Yichang to the central city of Yidu via Fanba Expressway and Yueyi Expressway, and the one-way toll was 16 yuan; in the future, this time will be shortened to 50 minutes, and the whole journey will be first-class express. Direct road, no toll.
After the completion of Jiangcheng Avenue, Yidu will speed up the implementation of important transportation projects such as the Third Qingjiang Bridge and the extension of Jiangcheng Avenue, promote the construction of the Honghuatao crossing the river as soon as possible, and create a 30-minute traffic circle from the main city of Yidu to the main city of Yichang, fully integrating The main city of Yichang.
