China's largest LNG reserve base put into operation

Yesterday (26th), CNOOC announced that CNOOC Yancheng " Green Energy Port " successfully unloaded the first ship LNG , marking the implementation of the largest LNG reserve base in China.

At 5:30 p.m. on September 26, the LNG carrier loaded with 210,000 cubic meters of LNG, after a 16-day, 6,000-nautical-mile voyage, began to unload at the "Green Energy Port" of CNOOC Yancheng. The ship's LNG is unloaded and stored by the first 220,000-cubic-meter LNG storage tank , which is officially put into use in China.

​​The "Green Energy Port" of CNOOC Yancheng located in Binhaigang Industrial Park, Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province is a key planning project for the construction and interconnection of the national natural gas production, supply, storage and marketing system. With a capacity of 2.5 million cubic meters, it is the largest LNG reserve base in China. The total receiving capacity of my country's LNG receiving stations is nearly 100 million tons. With the rapid growth of my country's natural gas consumption, the rapid development of the LNG industry, and the acceleration of infrastructure construction such as LNG receiving stations. In recent years, my country has accelerated the construction of coastal LNG receiving stations, with a total receiving capacity of nearly 100 million tons. By the end of 2021, my country has built 22 coastal LNG receiving stations with a total receiving capacity of 92.27 million tons, ranking first in the world in terms of construction scale.

Yang Yong, Deputy General Manager of CNOOC Group: In addition to CNOOC's "Green Energy Port" in Yancheng, we are also actively promoting the expansion of multiple receiving stations in Ningbo, Zhuhai and other places, and have already started 11 expansions of 270,000 cubic meters The storage capacity of these terminals has basically doubled, and the domestic natural gas supply can be better guaranteed.
