Netflix has released a behind-the-scenes look at the upcoming stop-motion animation "Pinocchio," which fans say is much better than the Disney version.
The film is directed by Mexican filmmaker Guillermo del Toro, who has a strong connection to the character, stating that "no character in history has had as deeply a personal connection with him as Pinocchio".
The Shape of Water director explained that stop motion is an art form and is digital.
" In the early stop motion, you can see the flickering of fur and fabric, and even the dust in the atmosphere on the set. And these imperfections look kind of gorgeous because it tells you how the thing is done The."
Unlike Disney's friendly approach to the character in the live-action film, Guillermo del Toro's adaptation of the Netflix film will set a darker tone.
In an interview, Ron Perlman, one of the actors in the film, said, "While Disney presented the story in a child-friendly way, Guillermo del Toro would not do that."
