Ren Rongrong has written works of children's literature such as "Mindless and Unhappy", "A Genius Acrobat", "Story of the Earth", "I Am a Big and Small Man", and translated "Charlotte's Web" and "Andersen's Fairy Tales" "The Complete Works", "Pinocchio", "Pippi Longstocking", "Pushkin's Fairy Tales" and other world classics of children's literature, with a total of more than 10 million words, known as "the pioneer of Chinese children's literature". These children's literature classics have been widely circulated among generations of readers through Ren Rongrong's translation.
Ren Rongrong has won the Chen Bochui Children's Literature Award for Outstanding Contribution, the Soong Ching Ling Children's Literature Award for Special Contribution, the Soong Ching Ling Camphor Tree Award, and the International Children's Book Union Translation Award. In 2002, he was awarded the honorary title of "Senior Translator" by the Chinese Translators Association. In 2012, Ren Rongrong was awarded the honorary title of "Lifetime Achievement Award for Chinese Translation Culture" by the China Translators Association.
In May of this year, Ren Rongrong celebrated his 100th birthday. He once said, "It is the luck of my life to be associated with children's literature."
