Zarafshan wind power plant is the second major project implemented by Masdar in Ukraine, the first being a 100 MW photovoltaic power plant which was put into operation last year in Navoi region. The Zarafshan wind power plant is scheduled to be commissioned by the end of 2024. Although it has not yet been completed, in addition to the investment agreement, a power purchase agreement has been signed between Masdar Corporation, the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of Ukraine, and the State Grid Corporation of Ukraine.

Last year, Masdar signed a number of agreements, according to which several more photovoltaic power plants will be built in Ukraine with a total capacity of 897 megawatts.
