"The Analects"|Everyone wants to be successful, Confucius said that if you want to achieve a great cause, you must pay attention to two points

's eagerness to seek merit has become a strong desire of some people in today's society. Zhang Ailing's famous saying "success as soon as possible" has become the mentality of many people in modern society. Success learns to become a gimmick quickly, and fame and fortune are used as a medicine to mislead young people who have just entered the society and want to succeed as soon as possible, eager to find a shortcut, want to become rich overnight, and become famous overnight. People are looking for a shortcut to success in the South. In fact, many successful truths in real life are often ignored by people.

Confucius said: "Haste is not enough, and seeing small profits is nothing." Educate people not to rush for success, not to be greedy for immediate benefits, but to look at the long-term. These two points of Confucius are the opposite for those who are eager to succeed, and they will be rejected. These two points are the panacea for success.

01 If you are eager for success, you can't achieve your goal. Anxious for success will reappear the jokes that are facilitating.

Do things step by step, accumulating little by little, "If you don’t accumulate steps, you can’t reach a thousand miles; if you don’t accumulate small streams, you can’t become a river." You must lay a solid foundation to build a high-rise building on the ground. Rome is not built in a day. of. Don't rush for quick success, you can't eat a fat man in one bite.

, especially those who make great things, can't think about it overnight, but also have a long-term plan, take it step by step, and don't rush to make it happen. Why did Confucius say "Haste is not enough"? Because he has lessons in this area, don't think that saints are all well.

Confucius began to participate in politics at the age of 51, and soon became a leader. He reformed the State of Lu according to his political ideals. After three months, he achieved initial results. The market was fair and no one dared to drive up prices at will. There are differences between men and women, and they go in separate ways. The road is not picked up, and the house is not closed at night. The customs of the Lu country has changed, attracting people from all quarters to begin to join.

The situation in the Lu country was very good. Confucius was encouraged. He felt that the reform should be made a little bit bigger, and he did a big thing, which is to "delay the three capitals." The Zhou Dynasty stipulated that the walls of the noble princes should not exceed 18 feet, in order to prevent them from rebelling against the city. At that time, the walls of the three powerful ministers Ji Sun, Meng Sun, and Shu Sun, who controlled the Lu regime, all exceeded the standard, and each was higher than the other.

Confucius felt that this was arrogance. Regardless of whether he could shake the foundation of the "Three Huan", he hurriedly started the "Three Capitals", that is, to push down the 18-foot part of the "San Huan" city wall to weaken the "Three Huan". "Huan" forces to enhance the authority of the Lu Kingdom.

This move by Confucius offended the "Sanhuan" and was resisted by the "Sanhuan". Not only was the action of the "Sandu" unable to go on, but the total of the three families put Confucius in the air. Confucius had to He interrupted his official career and his ideals of national salvation, and began to travel around the world. Since then, he has been displaced for more than ten years, but he never got the chance to govern.

When Confucius later talked about letting him govern the country, although he was very confident, he was a lot more cautious. He said that the results were effective at the beginning of the first year and great results in three years. His students were influenced by him. Zilu said that if you let yourself run a medium-sized country, three years would make the people "brave"; Ran Qiu said that only three years would he be "sufficient people".

must have a plan to do everything, and then implement it step by step, that is, step by step, a little accumulation, master the speed of action, and take every step well.

is known as the master of success, Anthony Robin , he put forward the "must success formula": "First, decide what you are after; second, take action; third, observe which action It works, which action does not work; fourth, modify the deviation of the action party to achieve the goal." In fact, these truths are known axioms in the human world, there is no mystery, just one sentence, we must be down-to-earth, step by step Come.

02 It is difficult to achieve big things if you are greedy for small profits.

"Seeing small profits will make big things impossible." It means to see the long-term in everything. Don't just stare at the immediate benefits. You must know how to make choices.

There is a man who thinks he is smart and works with an honest man. The smart man always wants to take advantage of the honest man and looks down upon him as an honest man. All this makes a wise man look over it. He knows that honest people are not stupid, but big wise people are stupid, but they don't care about so-called smart people.

One day, a wise man wanted to teach a wise man a lesson, so he invited them to eat buns. There are 5 steamed buns. The wise man told them that the steamed buns are their own, but they must be eaten before they can take the remaining steamed buns. The wise man took the first step and grabbed a steamed bun with one hand, while the honest man only took one steamed bun. The wise man laughed at the honest man while eating. After the honest man finished eating a steamed bun, he picked up the remaining two steamed buns, and looked at the remaining steamed buns wisely.

The wise man only sees the immediate benefits, but does not consider the long-term. The honest man seems to sacrifice a little bit of immediate benefits, but he wins the future.

Sometimes, people are easily tempted by the small profits in front of them. They only seek immediate benefits and don't want to sacrifice a small profit, and they lose the future.

Concluding remarks

"Haste will lead to failure, and see small gains will lead to failure." It tells us to look at the problem dialectically. If we want to succeed, we must do two things. Work must be done step by step, starting from bit by bit, from small to large; at the same time, we must have a long-term vision, not be moved by the small profits in front of us, stick to the original aspiration, and keep moving forward in order to achieve a great cause.

I read the "Zilu Chapter" of "The Analects":

[Original] Zi Xia was the father of Ju, asking the government, and the son said: "There is no desire for speed, no small profit. Speed will not be achieved, and small profits will lead to failure."

[Translation] Zixia became the governor of Jufu, and he asked Confucius how to manage political affairs. Confucius said: "Don't be anxious for success, don't be greedy for small profits. Anxious for success will fail to achieve your goal; if you are greedy for small profits, you can't achieve great things." Welcome to follow @丁小悟典 to show you the beauty of traditional culture.
