On the afternoon of December 20, the third phase of the Data Science Forum, the General Education Lecture at Renmin University of China was held. Xie Bangchang, Dean of the School of Management of Taipei Medical University, Director of the Big Data Research Center of Taipei Medical University, and Visiting Professor of the School of Statistics of Renmin University of China, was invited to give a theme report entitled "Health, Smart Medicine and Data Science". Wang Xiaojun, Dean of School of Statistics, Renmin University of China, Yin Jianxin, Vice Dean, Yuan Wei, Director of China Survey and Data Center, Jin Yongjin, Director of Applied Statistics Research Center, Professors Yi Danhui, Zhang Jingxiao, Xu Wangli, etc. attended the meeting. This forum was chaired by Li Yang, deputy dean of the School of Statistics.
Xie Bangchang believes that the development of artificial intelligence will go through three stages of "weak artificial intelligence", "strong artificial intelligence" and "super artificial intelligence". He pointed out that in recent years, artificial intelligence technology has flourished, and the development of corresponding ethical laws and social structure is still lacking. Combined with the video, he further introduced the preliminary applications of artificial intelligence in genetics, medical care, finance, and e-commerce. He said that artificial intelligence is not a flash in the pan, and its development will gradually move towards lower thresholds and burst out with more vigorous vitality in the future.
Xie Bangchang believes that the core of artificial intelligence lies in the integration of data, and smart medical care is to digitize all medical processes. Medical care will not only be a technology, but will also evolve into a service model combined with big data. He said that the establishment of the Smart Health Management Center enables people to understand their health status without leaving home. The current research projects of Taipei Medical University, such as hardware and software facilities and industrial connections, artificial intelligence medical imaging research, development of integrated neuromedicine centers, and construction of integrated medical care systems, are dedicated to establishing a health bank and developing smart medical care. He believes that although we are still in the stage of "weak artificial intelligence", the era of "super artificial intelligence" that will come ten years later will realize the intelligent management of health and produce a business model that combines artificial intelligence and medical care.
