Author's statement

Among the many trees, Cang pine is the most humane tree. I prefer to paint Cang pine, especially this time Cang pine has become the "protagonist" in my paintings. As the "protagonist", it is not a specific tree, but from my own observation of Cangsong's life style, my own observation of Cangsong's life space, and my own observation of Cangsong's true nature. To paint such a tree is somewhat of a tree that doesn’t look at the tree as a tree. Instead, I want to express the ancient form of Cangsong, the relaxed manner, and the radiant demeanor, while at the same time reflecting a bit of humanistic spirit, such as "vitality", such as "calmness." ", such as "after withering." However, on the screen, this feeling is still difficult to grasp completely, and it needs to be repeated. What is pleasantly surprised is that in the process of painting, I inadvertently discovered that the painted pine has a somewhat dragon-like appearance, and the look of the dragon suddenly brightened in my heart: "Cang pine transforms into a dragon"! As soon as this idea is transformed, there is a sense of entering another dimension, and the painting environment becomes abnormal-the spirit of the loose and the spirit of the dragon are combined and transformed into each other. Combination is a kind of tolerance, and transformation is a state.

Artist profile

Shen Guorong

was born in Hangzhou in 1959 and was born in Taiwan. He went to the countryside as an educated youth in 1975, a soldier in 1978, and a worker in 1982. After graduating from the Department of Fine Arts Education at Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts (now the China Academy of Art) in 1988, he went to Hangzhou Art Vocational School as a teacher. Member of Zhejiang Taiwan League, Zhejiang Artists Association, Hangzhou Artists Association. In August 2017, participated in the "Rong-Contemporary Oil Painting Language Research Exhibition" (Beijing Today Art Museum). In January 2018, participated in the "Harmony-Contemporary Chinese Small Oil Painting Exhibition" (Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum, Japan).
