Siping is located in the hinterland of the northeast. It is a transportation hub connecting east, west, south and north railways and highways. It is also a distribution center for grains and grains. During the liberation period of the Northeast, whoever can control Siping can freely cross the Northeast land. From March 1946 to March 1948, the People's Army led by the Communist Party of China and the Kuomintang reactionary forces had four bloody battles and four ties.

Meng Zhaowen, 92 years old this year, was a veteran who participated in the Siping Campaign and was a soldier of the 1st Brigade of the Northeast Democratic Alliance Security Force. Speaking of this period of history, Meng Zhaowen always vividly remembers: "Ning will die one step further and live without stepping back."

Zhang Yuming, 56 years old this year, has been engaged in research on the history of the Siping Battle for more than 30 years. More than 500 exhibits all record the heroic epic that was expressed in the blood of countless martyrs more than 70 years ago. Although the smoke of the four wars and four peaces has long since dissipated, those heroes who have given their lives and fought blood for national independence and people's liberation should not be forgotten.
