In the era of war and smoke, countless people of lofty ideals throw their heads and sprinkle their blood, paving the way for a better life today. Although history is gone, the spirit of revolutionary heroes has been passed down from generation to generation and has become the spiritual banner and life benchmark of today's Chinese Communists. Taking the revolutionary hero Fang Zhimin as the theme, the National Centre for the Performing Arts created and launched the opera "Fang Zhimin" jointly created by composer Meng Weidong , screenwriters Feng Baiming and Feng Bilie, director Liao Xianghong and others in 2015. The main content of the play is the process of Fang Zhimin writing and sending out "Lovely China" and other manuscripts in prison. The main line is the contest between Fang Zhimin and the Kuomintang Military Law Director in prison, and the series is told through a "flashback" method. Fang Zhimin's lifelong revolutionary career and mental journey show the image of this Communist Party member with ideals, beliefs, literati sentiments and personality charm from multiple angles. The play has been performed in the National Centre for the Performing Arts for four rounds since its inception, and returned to Fang Zhimin’s hometown of Jiangxi to tour. Each round of performance has touched countless audiences deeply. On the occasion of National Day from September 30 to October 3, the National Centre for the Performing Arts will once again present this high-level red repertoire to the audience. Lu Jia, the music and art director of the National Centre for the Performing Arts, will join hands with Wang Chong, Wang Kai, Liu Songhu, Zhang Yang, Li Xintong, Zhang Xin, Kou Jing and other outstanding singers of the National Centre for the Performing Arts and mezzo-soprano Liu Shan, together with the artists of the National Centre for the Performing Arts choir and orchestra, once again told this revolutionary story that has been baptized over the years. In the moving music, a moving red memory is traced back to arouse the patriotic feelings of the audience.
From September 30 to October 1, the "I Love You, China" National Day Concert 2020 at the National Grand Theater will be performed in the Concert Hall of the Grand Theater for two consecutive days. Conductor Li Biao, together with the Beijing Symphony Orchestra and pianist Tan Xiaotang, played the surging "Ode to the Red Flag", "Yellow River Piano Concerto" and Beethoven's "Fifth "Fate" Symphony in C Minor" and other works. To pay tribute to the medical staff fighting the epidemic, this concert will also bring the anti-epidemic works "Running Warrior" and "Wuhan 2020" commissioned by the Beijing Symphony Orchestra to the audience.
On October 3, the online performance of the National Centre for the Performing Arts "Hua Cai Qiu Yun" series will also usher in the specially planned "71 National Day Concert". The concert will be conducted by conductor Tan Lihua and the Beijing Symphony Orchestra. At the same time, the Beijing Music Association Chorus, violinist Gao Sen, baritone singer Sun Li , and soprano singer Wang Qingshuang will also take the stage to enrich the diversity. In the form of performance, online audiences presented familiar classic music such as "Ode to the Motherland", "Song of the Yangtze River", "On the Field of Hope" and "My Motherland". This concert will be performed by four famous Chinese pianos: Yuan Fang, Sun Yingdi, Sheng Yuan, and Zou XiangTogether, they "unlock" solo, four-handed, eight-handed, double piano, and four pianos for the audience. The performance repertoire brings together the most representative excerpts from Western music masters such as Beethoven, Brahms, Liszt , Chopin and other influential masterpieces of contemporary Chinese composers such as Bao Yuankai and Zhou Long.
