According to information released by the Guizhou Procuratorate on March 20, the former county party secretary of Qiannan Prefecture Sandu Autonomous County, the former county party secretary of Qiannan Prefecture Sandu Autonomous County, who was prosecuted by the Qiandongnan Prefecture People’s Procuratorate, was publicly sentenced at the first instance of the suspected bribery case. The Qiandongnan Prefecture Intermediate People's Court found the defendant Liang Jiageng guilty of accepting bribes and sentenced him to 10 years in prison and fined RMB 1 million. The property obtained from bribery was recovered and turned over to the national treasury. This is the first duty crime case transferred by the Provincial Supervision Commission to the procuratorial organ for review and prosecution. After the public sentence of the first instance, Liang Jiageng pleaded guilty and accepted the sentence without appealing. The case of Liang Jiageng's bribery was designated by the Guizhou Provincial People’s Procuratorate to review and prosecute the Qiandongnan Prefecture People’s Procuratorate. The Qiandongnan Prefecture People’s Procuratorate served as the first prosecutor to support the prosecution. Based on Liang Jiageng’s plea and repentance, he made sentencing recommendations to the Qiandongnan Prefecture Intermediate People’s Court. The

court held that as a state official, the defendant Liang Jiageng took advantage of his position to illegally accept other people’s property and seek benefits for others. The amount was extremely large, and his behavior constituted the crime of accepting bribes. Based on the criminal facts and circumstances identified in this case, the aforementioned judgment was made according to law.
