Hong Kong director Chen Musheng died of advanced nasopharyngeal cancer, these four physical signs must be vigilant

Hong Kong director Chen Musheng passed away on the morning of August 23 from nasopharyngeal carcinoma at the age of 58.

According to reports, Chen Musheng felt abnormal in his body when filming the movie "Rage" starring Donnie Yen and Nicholas Tse last year. When I went to the hospital for an examination after filming "Rage", he was already in the advanced stage of nasopharyngeal cancer.

Nasopharyngeal cancer is commonly known as "Cantonese tumor" or "Cantonese cancer" because of its high incidence in Guangdong, China. It is currently the only cancer in the world that is named as a region.

According to statistics from the World Health Organization, about 80% of nasopharyngeal cancer patients in the world come from China, and the incidence of nasopharyngeal cancer in Guangdong accounts for 60% of the country.

A nasopharyngeal cancer study led by Dr. Zheng Ronghui from the Cancer Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University showed that after a statistical analysis of more than 300 nasopharyngeal cancer patients, nasopharyngeal cancer patients found tinnitus, bleeds, and neck masses to the hospital for treatment , The average interval is 4.7 months, many patients have reached the advanced stage, and the cure rate is significantly reduced. And if you find that you are uncomfortable and go to the hospital for treatment within one month, the average stage is stage II, and the cure rate is as high as 80-90%.

Chen Dongping, deputy dean of the Cancer Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University, pointed out that the key to nasopharyngeal cancer lies in early detection and early treatment. According to reports, common high-risk factors for nasopharyngeal cancer include genetics, Epstein-Barr virus infection, environmental factors such as water quality, soil, and air, and eating habits such as salted fish, cured meat, and pickled vegetables.

Early signs of nasopharyngeal carcinoma are actually easy to detect, mainly including four major manifestations: 1. Respiratory or direct bleeding; 2. Tinnitus, ear stuffiness or hearing loss; 3. Progressive nasal congestion; 4. Neck Tumor.

In terms of treatment, radiotherapy has been the first choice for nasopharyngeal cancer for a long time. For early-stage patients, the effect is very significant, with a 5-year survival rate of over 90%. However, the clinical symptoms of nasopharyngeal carcinoma are complex and diverse, which can easily lead to the missed or misdiagnosed nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Data show that about 60% to 70% of patients are in the locally advanced stage when they see a doctor, and local recurrence and distant metastasis have become the main reasons for the treatment failure of such patients. Professor Zhang Li from the Cancer Center of Sun Yat-Sen University said in an interview with reporters that the current immunotherapy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma is undergoing clinical trials.
