International Online News (Reporter Ma Xiaoye): After a magnificent life from birth to death, Mr. Hao Bocun finally returned home with a happy life of a hundred and two years old. Zheng Zhenqing, an associate professor at the Taiwan Research Institute of Tsinghua University, said that when he opened the "Memoirs of Hao Bocun" written by him in his late years, the century testimony of "birth and death", and the legendary life of "coming out of the generals" is vividly on paper. I couldn't help but think of the scene where he accompanied him to visit the Tsinghua Park ten years ago, and felt his life legend and patriotic feelings.

Hao Baicun was born in Yancheng, Jiangsu in August 1919. He was admitted to the Huangpu Military Academy to study artillery before he was crowned. After the beginning of the national war of resistance, Hao Baicun and other young officers graduated ahead of schedule and joined the battlefield. In a battle, he was strafed by Japanese fighter jets. Although he survived the disaster, he was injured in the head. After he recovered, he was left with fragments of shells in his brain for life. In 1943, he served as the artillery company commander to join the Chinese Expeditionary Force to fight against Japan in northern India. Sixty years later, as a "veteran of the Anti-Japanese War", Hao Bocun returned to the mainland many times to search for the battlefield of the year and identify the historical facts of the war.

Zheng Zhenqing said that in the eyes of Hao Baicun, the war of resistance is the righteousness of the country, and the civil war is nothing more than a "brotherly wall." Therefore, Hao Bocun quoted Mencius’s “giving up righteousness” in his "Memoirs" to show that their generation, regardless of the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, the blood-stained robes, and the value of the War to the end, is "the supremacy of the nation, the supremacy of the nation." The ancestors and ancestors, the descendants are worthy of future generations." In September 2005, he was invited to the Great Hall of the People in Beijing to attend the 60th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the Anti-Fascist War, and was awarded a commemorative medal, which caused profound repercussions on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. Zheng Zhenqing, an associate professor at the Institute of Taiwan Studies at Tsinghua University, said that after the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, Hao Baicun was reused as an entourage by Gu Zhutong, then chief of staff of the Kuomintang army, and then went to Taiwan with the defeated Kuomintang. Hao Baicun’s military qualifications established his influence in Taiwan’s political arena, and Lee Teng-hui had to use him after he took office. From 1990 to 1993, Hao Baicun served as the "President of the Executive Yuan" in Taiwan. He resolutely fights against the "Taiwan independence" forces, presides over the "Executive Yuan meeting" to decree the "National Unification Program", supports the "1992 consensus" reached between the two sides of the strait, and also established the "Mainland China Council" and the "Sea Foundation" to promote Cross-strait relations are moving towards dialogue and exchange. However, under the coercion of Lee Tenghui and the Democratic Progressive Party, Hao Bocun had to resign. After resigning, he always upholds the national integrity and Chinese identity, continues to oppose "Taiwan independence" and pursue cross-strait reunification. Zheng Zhenqing said that Hao Baicun continued to work hard in his old age. He must write 3,000 characters every day. He has published six major works, expounding historical experience, promoting the national spirit, and conveying "abandoning independence, non-army, and slowing down". The concept of "Martyrs in their twilight years, full of heart"!

In early August 2009, when Hao Bocun was in his 90th birthday, he led a delegation to visit Beijing in the name of participating in the exhibition of master of traditional Chinese painting Huang Junbi. Chen Yunlin, the president of ARATS, had an in-depth conversation with him. After the exhibition, Hao Bocun visited Tsinghua University with several family members and old friends. Zheng Zhenqing was fortunate to accompany them to visit the campus. He said that although Mr. Hao Baicun was old at the time, he was very energetic and steady. He didn't even need crutches. He wandered from the gate of Tsinghua Second School to the Great Hall and Shuimu Tsinghua University, enjoying it with great interest. The lush Tsinghua Park in midsummer. When Hao Bocun stumbled upon a unique Chronicle Stone at the entrance of the Great Hall, he said happily: "I didn't expect to see such words here." Then he pondered for a long time, as if recalling the years of the grand tour. Or a century of turbulent China.

Zheng Zhenqing still remembered at the entrance of the Science Museum and asked Mr. Hao Bocun whether the two sides of the strait could jointly write a 20th century history book? He loudly said that this is necessary, and the two sides of the strait should reach a consensus on modern history, so that the Chinese nation can stand in the world more confidently. Zheng Zhenqing said that ten years have passed, and his hearty voice is still in his ears. The courage of the whole nation in his mind is still moving. However, there is a metabolism of personnel, and the exchanges between the past and the present have been formed. On March 30, I heard the news of the death of Mr. Hao Baicun, opened the "Memoirs" again, and read his imitation of Lu You poems, "Protecting Taiwan and anti-independence is by no means empty, but sadness does not see China together; the day of cross-strait peaceful reunification," Don't forget to tell Nai Weng for the family sacrifice," he was full of emotion. I sincerely hope that compatriots on both sides of the strait can join hands to oppose "Taiwan independence" and jointly realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. People in the spring know and feelTo comfort.
