On January 30, the Hong Kong Baptist University and the University of Hong Kong announced that they would further suspend school teaching until March 2.

As early as January 25, Hong Kong Baptist University announced that it would postpone classes to February 17. However, due to the spread of the virus pneumonia, Hong Kong Baptist University President Qian Dakang issued a notice to the entire school, stating that in view of the continued spread of the virus, the HKBU management decided to extend the suspension of classes until March 2 (Monday), and campus classes continued to stop During this period, only online teaching arrangements will be maintained.

and emphasized that all teachers and students must fill out an online health declaration form before returning to campus. Teachers and students who have visited the mainland must self-isolate for 14 days before they can return to campus.

On January 31, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University announced that it would postpone the school’s face-to-face teaching to the beginning of March, and change the classroom from February 10 to March 1 to online teaching. The previous plan of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University was to cancel all face-to-face courses from February 3 to February 16, and the courses will resume on February 17. However, as the situation changes, it has decided to revise the school teaching time to early March.

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University urges local students to stay at home as much as possible during online teaching and not to return to campus; non-local students who are out of town should also stay there. Students who have visited the mainland in the past 14 days need to declare to the school and self-quarantine for 14 days.
