So far in the case, four people have been convicted of murder and sentenced to life imprisonment , and one person was convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to 11 years in prison.

Hong Kong Police Organized Crime and Triad Investigation Bureau Superintendent Lam Qichu further introduced that a karaoke fire 27 years ago resulted in the death of 17 men and women. The deceased were aged between 16 and 42 years old, and 13 others were injured. The cause of the crime involved two gangs, who had a feud at karaoke a few days before the crime.

For years, Hong Kong police have been hunting for the remaining fugitives. On November 27 this year, the Hong Kong police received a notification from mainland law enforcement authorities and intercepted a 52-year-old suspect. After his identity was confirmed, the suspect arrived in Hong Kong via the Shenzhen Bay Port on the 28th and was subsequently arrested by the Hong Kong police. The suspect was 25 years old at the time of the crime. The police have evidence that he had a significant involvement in the case. Hong Kong police have escorted the suspect to the scene to reconstruct the case.

Currently, there is still one person at large in this case who has been wanted by the Hong Kong police: the man, Chen Fuqing, is 47 years old this year and was 19 years old at the time of the incident.
