The play is produced by the Propaganda Department of the Guangzhou Municipal Party Committee, Guangzhou Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism Bureau, and jointly produced by Guangzhou Cultural Development Group Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Institute of Literary and Art Creation, and the Memorial Hall of the Former Agricultural Lecture Institute, Guangzhou Dramatic Art Center Ltd. Hong Kong Dade College is a fruitful achievement in education of the patriotic united front led by the Communist Party of China. The college opened in the autumn of 1946 and was closed in the spring of 1949. Although it only existed for less than 30 months, the school brought together professors such as Jian Bozan, Hu Sheng, and Huang Huanqiu to teach, Li Jishen, He Xiangning, Guo Moruo, Qiao Guanhua, and Mao Dun. When I went to give lectures, there were about a hundred famous teachers, which can be said to be a gathering of talents.

Hong Kong Dade College adheres to the educational purpose of "practical for the country", offers more than 170 subjects that closely integrate theory and practice, and has trained about 1,000 students. The drama "South, North" has a strong creative lineup. Lian Xingcun, director of the Guangzhou Institute of Literary and Art Creation and a first-level screenwriter, and Li Xinhua, deputy director of the Guangzhou Institute of Literary and Art Creation and a first-level screenwriter, jointly wrote and served as screenwriters, Guangzhou Liu Hao, the outstanding director of the Dramatic Art Center, serves as the director, and many outstanding young actors, led by national first- and second-level actors from the Guangzhou Dramatic Art Center, star in the show.

The original music is beautiful and moving, cleverly creating and highlighting the changes in the scene and the psychology of the characters, and leading the audience into the drama. Many sets of costumes are exquisitely designed and beautifully made, showing the style of the times in Guangzhou and Hong Kong.
