Erhu player Ma Xiaohui has given many concerts around the world, but has never given an entire concert with the Chinese National Orchestra. This wish came true in cooperation with the Shanghai Chinese Orchestra. On November 16, Ma Xiaohui’s legendary Erhu “Colorful Rhythm” concert was unveiled at the Shanghai Concert Hall, conveying the fashionable temperament and colorful colors of Erhu with an international artistic vision.

"The Tianshan Shepherdess" was composed by Yang Liqing and premiered by Ma Xiaohui. The work uses Xinjiang Tajik melodies as musical material and is full of Western style. Ma Xiaohui used the sound of the piano to show the beautiful scenes of the shepherdess at work, as well as her love for life, life and nature. Before his death, the teacher passed it on to Ma Xiaohui, and today the piano is still active on the stage.
"The Refining of Strings" is Ma Xiaohui's second original work, also known as "The Story of Two Strings" in English. In Venice in 2001, Ma Xiaohui, who had already entered the world stage, recalled his past life experiences with the erhu, "Along the way, I had struggles, depression, melancholy, and even thought about giving up. Later, I kept being reborn and embracing my original intention."
"Dream Comes True" was also originally created by Ma Xiaohui. It is an "Erhu poem and music" that incorporates recitation and singing. Its English name is "shanghai dream", and it is also a work full of gratitude.
