China News Service, Guangzhou, September 29 (Reporter Cheng Jingwei) The closing and awards ceremony of the 6th Guangzhou Youth Drama and Performing Arts Competition was held at the Guangzhou Jiangnan Grand Theater on the evening of the 28th. In this competition, a group of young drama talents emerged, injecting fresh blood into Guangzhou's drama industry.

The competition attracted a total of 60 young drama talents to participate. With their superb skills and full enthusiasm, they presented 31 Cantonese opera works, 12 puppet works and 17 drama works to the audience. After fierce competition, they finally produced 10 gold medals, 20 silver medals and 30 bronze medals.

In addition to commending the award-winning actors, the awards night also featured some gold-winning works, including the Cantonese opera "Hujiazhuang", the drama "Good Night, Mom" and the long silk puppet dance "Puppet Love", etc., once again showing the youth's The strength of dramatic talent.

This competition also specially set up the "Excellent Instructor Award" to commend those artists who have made outstanding contributions to the cultivation of young theater talents in Guangzhou. The winners include Chen Yunhong, the famous Cantonese opera performing artist and winner of the Plum Blossom Award for Chinese Drama; Cui Keqin, the representative inheritor of the national intangible cultural heritage puppet show (Guangdong Puppet Show); Huang Qifeng, the famous Peking opera performing artist and the winner of the Plum Blossom Award for Chinese Drama; and the Guangzhou Drama Art Center Director Ni Chao et al.
Zhang Juan, director of the Liaison Department of the Guangzhou Federation of Literary and Art Circles, said that the Guangzhou Youth Drama and Performing Arts Competition is not only a grand event for artistic competition, but also an important platform for young drama talents to showcase themselves, communicate and learn, and improve together. The purpose of the competition is to "promote practice through competition, promote learning through competition, improve ability through competition, and select the best through competition", aiming to stimulate the potential of young drama workers and promote the prosperity and development of drama art in Guangzhou.
Li Jiayi, the new chairman of the Guangzhou Dramatists Association and winner of the Plum Blossom Award for Chinese Drama, said that he expects young drama talents to create excellent literary and artistic works to nourish and enrich people's spiritual lives and promote the sustainable development of Guangzhou's drama industry.
