It is understood that the Guiyang Symphony Orchestra was established in September 2009. To this day, the orchestra has invited countless outstanding performers and singers from all over the country and even the world. Artists and conductors jointly participated, providing the society with more than a thousand concerts with rich repertoire and high quality. The orchestra consists of more than 70 outstanding young musicians from many countries and regions. Previous directors include Li Xincao, Chen Zuohuang, and Rico Saccani. Starting from the ninth music season, the famous conductor Zhang Guoyong has served as the orchestra’s music director. Liu Yunzhi serves as the honorary leader and honorary concertmaster of the orchestra.

At the same time, classical music lectures and open rehearsal activities are held regularly for music fans to let more audiences understand classical music and fall in love with classical music.

It brings together the Inner Mongolia Art Theater Symphony Orchestra, Guangxi Symphony Orchestra, Chongqing Symphony Orchestra, Sichuan Symphony Orchestra, Guiyang Symphony Orchestra, Guizhou Provincial Song and Dance Theater Symphony Orchestra, Kunming Nie'er Symphony Orchestra, Tibet Symphony Orchestra, Shaanxi Symphony Orchestra, Lanzhou Symphony Orchestra, Ningxia Twelve orchestras, including the Symphony Orchestra and Urumqi Symphony Orchestra, will hold 12 performances at the Guiyang Grand Theater Concert Hall and Zunyi Grand Theater Opera Hall from September 6 to 14, and will participate in Zhucheng Square on September 15 roadside concert.
