The "2024 Yunnan Summer Travel Consumption Report" recently jointly released by Tongcheng Travel and the Yunnan Provincial Tourism Planning Research Institute shows that this summer, cool Yunnan tourism continues to go out of the circle, continuing to stimulate new vitality in cultural tourism consumption.

The report pointed out that thanks to the topical tourism and cultural resources as well as the promotion and promotion with diverse angles, forms and rich content, this summer, the passenger flow of Yunnan’s online travel order channels reached 167% of that in the summer of 2023. The scale of tourism product sales revenue reached 153% of that in the summer of 2023, ranking sixth in the country.

"Shangri-La", "Yuxi Zhongjia", "Wild Mushrooms" and "Torch Festival" have become hot search keywords for tourists visiting Yunnan during the summer. Among tourists coming to Yunnan, male tourists account for 53%, and "Generation Z" tourists account for more than 60%; tourists from outside the province account for 59%, an increase of more than 7 percentage points year-on-year. Guangdong, Sichuan, Zhejiang, Guizhou, Jiangsu Ranked among the top five tourist source provinces. Among them, Guangdong tourists increased by 93%. Before the summer vacation, the "There is a Life in Yunnan" promotion conference was held in Guangzhou, which had a positive impact on the tourist source market of Yunnan represented by Guangzhou.

The report shows that Kunming, Lijiang, Dali, Honghe and Qujing rank among the top five popular destinations in the province. Lijiang, Diqing, Dali, Kunming and Dehong are the top five destinations with the highest increase in tourists. Diqing, Dali, Dehong, Lijiang and Honghe are the top five destinations in terms of increase in tourism product sales revenue, while Diqing, Lijiang, Dali, Dehong and Honghe are the top five destinations in terms of increase in hotel room nights.

The report shows that this summer, international air ticket orders destined for Yunnan increased by 122% year-on-year. The report recommends that Yunnan Province should focus on seizing the opportunity of the 144-hour transit visa-free policy, more accurately carry out marketing promotions with richer content and more diverse forms for foreign tourists, and continue to expand the scale of inbound tourism.
