Zhang Zhen (hereinafter referred to as "Zhang"): To be honest, when I was a child, I was actually quite opposed to the profession of actor, because my father is also an actor, and the state at home was to read the script over and over again every day. Sometimes I I don’t quite understand what he is doing (laughs). But I have always been interested in making movies since I was a child, because I don’t have to go to school and can go to various places (with the crew).
Ding: You filmed "The Murder of the Boys on Guling Street" when you were 14 years old. Looking back now, is there anything else that left a particularly deep impression on you?
photos: is probably the way Director Edward Yang leads actors into their roles. I remember there was a scene where I had to film the reaction of Xiaosi (Chang Chen’s character) when he saw two gangs fighting. But you also know that I am a child and have never seen such a scene in real life, so I have no experience at all.
As a result, as soon as I arrived at the scene that day, Director Yang called me into a room and cursed me for no reason. Then he locked me up and faced the wall to think for half an hour. When the time was up, he pulled me out and shot directly, and I got the desired expression.
Ding: Has the movie changed anything for you?
photos: The change in personality is quite big. In fact, I was very outgoing when I was in elementary school. After acting, my personality seems to have completely changed. (Little Four) This character influenced me a lot. I was still in adolescence at the time, so I later became a more introverted person who spoke less.
Ding: Is there any movie that has acted in that you found most difficult to act in?
photos: The one that impressed me the most was probably "Wu Qingyuan". I had to play the role from Mr. Wu Qingyuan's youth to his old age. I was working in Japan at the time and the filming took more than three months. When the filming was about to be completed, I started to feel very sad, so I sneaked to a place by myself to feel sad.
When the play actually ended, everyone on the crew was very reluctant to part with it, but I thought to myself: Fortunately, I had already "released" it in advance and was ready.
But when I left later, standing in a station in Tokyo, I still felt very confused. I didn’t know where I was going tomorrow or what I was going to do...
So sometimes I still prefer to act in costume dramas, because I put on a hood and change clothes. It can be another person. After the ceremony, you can switch easily.
Ding: Among the actors you have worked with, is there any one that left a particularly deep impression on you?
photos: Tony Leung is one, I think about how to put it (Ding: In fact, for you actors, he is the same type of work as the same generation...), no, no, we are different generations, he is the ceiling for actors. gesture).
I enjoy working with him because he is very dedicated and very into the drama.I remember there was a scene where he was very angry when he was about to act, and then he punched an unknown place with his fist, and his hand broke off. He really had very high requirements for his performance.

Ding: Why did decide to play "Jiang/Yun·Zhi/Jian"?
pictures: Because the first version I came across was "Secret Love in Peach Blossom Land" by Teacher Jin Shijie and Teacher Brigitte Lin. Playing the role played by Teacher Jin, I feel very lucky and safe. I can also add some of my own things to it. .
On the other hand, it’s because of Teacher Lai Shengchuan. In fact, I have always wanted to work with the Performance Workshop because I am a fan of Biao Workshop (laughs). Teacher Lai is a very good director. With him, I feel at ease and can enjoy the whole process from rehearsal to performance.
Ding: What is the difference between director Na Lai and director Edward Yang of ?
pictures: (exaggerated expression) They are all my idols, because they are all tall, good at playing basketball, and good at dressing up...
I’m just kidding, they can actually be said to be very different. Similarly, Director Yang is the kind of actor who has to follow what he has set. The lines, speaking speed, and even exclamation marks and question marks cannot be changed. Director Lai, on the other hand, will let the actors find their own ideas over and over again within the scope of his control. Let the actors perform at their own pace.
Ding: What kind of person is Lai Shengchuan in rehearsal?
pictures: is a kind old man, hahaha...but the notes he gave are really important, especially the first version of the script where many key points were densely packed and very useful. Having him around makes me feel at ease and very enjoyable.

Ding: What do you think participating in "Jiang/Yun·Zhi/Jian" means to you?
pictures: I regard it as an acceptance after so many years of filmmaking. This is a very happy thing and a small blessing.
Ding: What do you think are the similarities and differences between you and the character Jiang Binliu?
pictures: Jiang Binliu is a literati who likes poetry. I don’t understand poetry at all, and I’m not that literary. But like him, I am both a nostalgic person and a person who likes to look forward. So every time I play "Jiang/Yun·Zhi/Jian", I will act as if it is my first time.

Ding: Is there any other role in that you particularly want to challenge?
pictures: does not... To be honest, I have never thought about the question "what kind of role do I want to play", so I'd better keep an open mind. In my opinion, actors are chosen by others, so it is better to remain passive.
Ding: If you were not an actor, what would you be doing?
pictures: I don’t know how to do anything, just relax, or go to the mountains every day to feel the breeze and the sunshine... But speaking of it this way, it seems that being a forest park ranger is not bad either.

pictures: I don’t dare to watch my own performance, it will feel very awkward. Moreover, part of my personality is also about being careless and hoping to be 100% perfect. I am a bit picky. Ding: Looking back now, what do movies, performances, and stages mean to you?
pictures: In fact, these three have become a part of my life. I am relatively lazy and casual, and I don’t have that much ambition for work, so it is better to have a little distance (from work).What I hope most is that I can follow my own pace, don't be too anxious, and don't be too anxious.
