On May 5, local time in the UK, British actor Bernard Hill passed away at the age of 79. In a release to the media, his family did not mention the cause of his death.
Bernard Hill was born on December 17, 1944 in Manchester, England. He has been involved in the entertainment industry since 1975 and has played classic roles such as Captain Edward John Smith in "Titanic" and King Théoden of Rohan in "The Lord of the Rings". Because of these two works, Hill also became the only actor in film history to win more than 10 Oscars in two films.
During Hill's career, he appeared in more than 140 films, TV series and shows.
After the news of Hill's death, Elijah Wood, who played Frodo in "The Lord of the Rings", paid tribute to him on social media: "Farewell, our friend and our king, Bernard Hill. We I will never forget you.”
