Papilionidae belongs to the genus Papilionidae and often inhabits areas above 1,000 meters above sea level where magnolia plants are distributed. , the host plant is Shenshan Hanxiao and Jinye Hanxiao. It reproduces two generations a year. It is the only wild animal among Chinese insects that is listed as a national first-level protected animal. It ranks first among the eight most precious butterflies in the world and is known as the "Dream Butterfly". Known as the Queen of Butterflies, its numbers in the wild are extremely rare. It is currently the mating season of this butterfly. A total of 6 golden-spotted swallowtail butterflies were active in the forest in the area that day, staying on the newly grown taller leaves. Only once they stayed on a branch about 1 meter away. The researchers successfully photographed the butterfly resting and taking off on a branch.

The Jiulianshan National Nature Reserve has carried out long-term monitoring research on this butterfly together with experts on the protection of the golden-spotted swallowtail butterfly. In key distribution areas, 9 sets of monitoring host plant phenology and 3 sets of videos monitoring the occurrence and activities of the butterfly have been installed. Monitoring equipment to further monitor the occurrence patterns of this butterfly and understand the actual problems faced by this species during population reproduction, which is of great significance to the future protection of species diversity in the reserve.
