According to Hangzhou Public Security WeChat ID, from April 18 to April 21, 2024, Jay Chou Carnival World Tour Concert - Hangzhou Station will be held at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center Stadium. Maybe you are ready to go to the scene to "have fun" Well, maybe you are "looking around to buy tickets", maybe you have to travel through the Olympic Sports area...
In March this year, the Hangzhou Public Security Bureau issued an important reminder about Jay Chou's concert tickets, but there are still criminals taking advantage of fans' urgent need to buy tickets. Scam.
After Ms. Zhao paid 1,960 yuan, the website showed that the payment failed. Ms. Zhao then contacted the website’s “customer service”, who asked Ms. Zhao to download a designated conference app, turn on the screen sharing function on her mobile phone, and remotely “guide” Ms. Zhao to transfer money. Ms. Zhao didn’t think much about it and transferred more than 37,000 yuan one after another. Later, I realized that I had been cheated.
Subsequently, Ms. Zhao reported the case to the Binjiang District Public Security Bureau, and the case is currently being processed further.
For this type of ticket purchase fraud, the police analyzed the tactics:
1. Publish false advertisements to attract fans. Criminals publish false ticket sales information on various social platforms, second-hand trading platforms, etc., to "transfer" and "sell" "Waiting to attract fans, fake website links were sent to induce fans to pay through the website. Many fans did not check carefully after clicking on the link, thinking it was a genuine ticket purchasing platform, but they did not know that after placing the order, the money went directly into the pockets of the scammers.
2. Guide private transactions and induce multiple transfers. After the two parties have negotiated the price, guide the victim to conduct private transactions, or let fans click on the set link to fill in personal information. Criminals will use reasons such as "transfer timeout" and "no personal information noted" to allow fans to continue transferring money. When the fans asked for a refund, the other party said they would return it to the original route and asked them to continue transferring money; or they were induced to download relevant conference apps, enable "screen sharing", and then transfer the money.
3. Pretending to be an insider and falsely claiming to have “official ticket sales channels” before official tickets for the concert went on sale, the scammers trumpeted that they had “official ticket sales channels” as “insiders” to lure fans into taking the bait. When fans are ready to buy tickets, these "insiders" use various false excuses such as deposits and hard-earned fees to demand payment of a certain price. They even claim that the ticket needs to be re-entered before the ticket can be issued, thereby defrauding fans of more money. When the fans discovered that they had been cheated and asked for a refund, they found that they had been blocked by the other party and could no longer contact the "insiders".
Police remind: Please pay attention to the official ticket purchasing platform when purchasing tickets, and do not trust "insiders" and individual resale. If you don’t get it, please continue to pay attention to subsequent ticket release information. Anyone who bypasses the formal platform, conducts private transactions, or requires repeated payments, refunds and deposits for various reasons is a scam!
Keep your personal account, password, verification code and other information safe and do not share it with others. During phone calls and voice chats, you cannot tell others your bank card account number and verification code. Once they are mastered by criminals, the account will be logged in remotely and the funds will be transferred away.
Once you are deceived, don't deal with the scammers needlessly. Report to the police as soon as possible, and the police will quickly stop payments and freeze the accounts involved in the fraud to recover the victims' losses as much as possible. (Picture source: Hangzhou Public Security WeChat ID)
