As an important brand festival event in Macau, the parade has entered its 10th year since it was held in 2011, becoming an annual celebration of Macau's return to the motherland. One of the festival activities, it attracts tourists and local residents from all over the world to participate. This year's "Grand Parade" was held again after four years in 2019, and was co-organized for the first time with six major integrated resort and leisure companies.

This event not only involves art groups from Portugal, Brazil, Mozambique, Togo, France, Spain, Norway, the United Kingdom, Italy, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Macau and other countries and regions, but also Some teams that have performed in the Grand Parade in the past were invited back to Macau to participate in the event. The total number of participants exceeded 1,800, allowing the audience to experience the rich and diverse culture and art of various places.
In order to expand the parade and performance elements, two local parade projects have been updated this year, including the "Large-scale Art Installation Parade" with giant puppets, giant delivery boy backpacks and other movable devices, as well as the Greater Bay Area Art Troupe, domestic and overseas art groups. The "Special Planning Parade" was launched by the troupe and cooperative teams in different artistic fields to jointly display their creativity.
Song and dance tour goes into the community to expand multicultural tourism experience
Viva, the mascot of this year’s parade, led the parade team from the Ruins of St. Paul’s to join the audience, passing through the old streets and alleys of Macau’s historical center, and arriving in front of Banzhang Hall to meet citizens and tourists. After a close interaction, we passed by Senado Square and headed to the Viva Carnival on Lakeview Avenue in Nam Van. There were a variety of games, workshops, interactive booths, and music video selfie devices, and many parade artists in dazzling costumes appeared. Dr. Stanley Ho interacted with the audience on the street and had a carnival. The
team finally arrived at Sai Van Lake Plaza to compete for multiple parade awards and create a new magical stage integrating digital technology with the theme of "Love, Peace, and Cultural Integration". Each art group used cultural performances from different regions to jointly present an immersive finale show to show citizens and tourists the unique charm of Macau, the performing arts capital.
In addition, 11 extended performance activities were held from March 17 to 24 this year, including this year’s newly added “Street Art Carnival”, allowing the audience to get up close and personal with multicultural art. Peripheral activities such as the "Most Popular Award" for the audience's vote for the parade team and the "2024 Macao International Parade" photography competition attracted many citizens to participate and received an enthusiastic response.
